Abstract: An apparatus configured to be employed in a gNodeB associated with a new radio (NR) communication system that support resource sharing between NR physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) and NR physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a processing circuit configured to generate a PDSCH dynamic rate matching resource set configuration signal comprising information on one or more overlap resource sets, wherein each the one or more overlap resource sets comprises time-frequency resources on which any overlapping PDSCH may or may not be mapped, based on an indication provided within a PDSCH rate matching indicator signal. The apparatus further comprises a radio frequency (RF) interface, configured to provide the generated PDSCH dynamic rate matching resource set configuration signal, to an RF circuitry, in order to subsequently provide the PDSCH dynamic rate matching resource set configuration signal to a user equipment (UE), in order to enable the UE to identify the one or more overlap resource sets.

Abstract: Systems, apparatus, user equipment (UE), evolved node B(eNB), and methods are described for machine-type communications (MTC) with narrowband deployment comprising including MTC Physical Control Format Indicator (M-PCFICH). One embodiment includes control circuitry configured to determine a super-frame structure, wherein the super-frame structure is set, at least in part, on a bandwidth of the narrowband deployment. The embodiment further comprises circuitry to determine configuration information for a UE in communication with the eNB, generate a configuration for an MTC Control Format Indicator (M-CFI) for the UE to indicate the determined configuration information, and transmit the M-CFI through a narrowband M-PCFICH within the super-frame structure.

Abstract: An eNodeB (eNB), user equipment (UE) and method for operating in enhanced coverage (EC) modes are generally described. The UE may receive one or more physical broadcast channel (PBCH) signals, dependent on whether the UE is in a normal coverage mode or in one of the EC modes. The PBCH signal may be combined to form a combined PBCH signal, when the UE is in an EC mode, and decoded to determine one of a plurality of sets of resource regions associated different EC modes for communication with the eNB. The signal may be scrambled using a Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI) dependent on at least one of a signal type of the control signal and the EC mode. Paging and the system information block (SIB) signals in a Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) may be decoded without decoding a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) signal associated with the PDSCH.

Abstract: Embodiments of an enhanced node B (eNB), user equipment (UE) and methods of signaling for proximity services and device-to-device (D2D) discovery in an LTE network are generally described herein. In some embodiments, the eNB may support inter-cell device-to-device (D2D) discovery by transmitting signaling, to a first user equipment (UE), to indicate configuration information for a D2D discovery resource pool including D2D resources configured by one or more neighboring cells. The configuration information includes timing offsets between a serving cell of the first UE and the one or more neighboring cells. Other apparatuses and methods are also described.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein relate generally to a communication between a user equipment (UE) and an evolved Node B (eNB). The UE and eNB may perform enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH)-less operation for scheduling of one or more common control messages, such as one or more system information blocks (SIBs), a random access response (RAR) message, or a paging message. Additionally, or alternatively, an eNB may configure a subset of aggregation levels for the search space of the UE to use for receiving a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) or enhanced PDCCH (EPDCCH). Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) enables synchronous peer-to-peer communication between devices for out of network coverage and partial network coverage scenarios. The UE performs a synchronization procedure and selects a spectrum resource within an uplink (UL) spectrum for device-to-device (D2D) communication. The UE, representing a synchronization source, generates timing information and synchronization signals for synchronizing a group of wireless communication devices (peer UEs) with the UE in a local synchronization area. The UE transmits, in selected or pre-allocated time or frequency resources, a synchronization signal including the timing information in order to synchronize devices in the local synchronization area.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) includes a reference signal component, a guard period component, and a transmission component. The reference signal component is configured to randomly select a sequence for a reference signal for transmission in an open device-to-device discovery packet. The guard period component is configured to determine a first symbol signal for transmission during a first symbol of the device-to-device discovery packet. The first symbol comprises a partially punctured symbol. The transmission component is configured to transmit the device-to-device discovery packet. The device-to-device discovery packet includes the first symbol having the partially punctured symbol and a reference signal based on the randomly selected sequence.
