The first and second pluralities of metal pieces may be metallurgically dissimilar from each other, and may each comprise a percentage of titanium.

A novel protein allergen Der p VII of Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus is described. A cDNA clone encoding Der p VII was isolated from a λgt11 library of D. pteronyssinus cDNA. The nucleic acid sequence of Der p VII encodes a 198 residue mature processed protein having a predicted molecular weight of 22,177 daltons. Der p VII protein may be used as the active ingredient in therapeutic composition for the treatment of sensitivity to house dust mites. The protein may also be used in methods of diagnosing such sensitivity.

A method of constructing a battery using a control unit to cause battery components to be drawn through an automated conveyor system and between indexed positions on the conveyor system is provided. Positive terminals for a battery are attached to a first carrier strip having indexing apertures. Negative terminals for a battery are attached to a second carrier strip having indexing apertures. Spools, controlled by control unit, are engaged in the indexing apertures of the first and second carrier strips and rotated for movement of carrier strips and terminals through indexed construction positions.

Systems and methods balance fluid in a fluid processing procedure during which an outgoing fluid is removed from an individual and an ingoing fluid is supplied to the individual. The systems and methods discharge a volume of the outgoing fluid and a volume of the ingoing fluid from the volumetric chamber. The systems and methods synchronizes the supply and discharge of fluid to affect a concurrent discharge of the outgoing fluid and ingoing fluid from the volumetric chamber in volumetric balance with a concurrent supply of outgoing fluid and ingoing fluid into the volumetric chamber. The volumetric chamber can include at least one chamber including an interior wall dividing the chamber into a first compartment and a second compartment. The first compartment retains a volume of outgoing fluid. The second compartment retains a volume of ingoing fluid. The interior wall responds to differential fluid pressure to discharge the ingoing fluid from the second compartment as the outgoing fluid is conveyed into the first compartment, and vice versa.

An application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) is disclosed. The ASIC comprises a standard cell. The standard cell includes a plurality of logic functions. The ASIC further includes a field programmable (FP) logic function for coupling the plurality of logic functions together via a plurality of input and output stages. The FP logic function can be programmed for field repair of at least one of the plurality of the logic functions. A method and system in accordance with the present invention utilizes a distributed field programmable logic block in conjunction with standard cells to provide for field repair and improved redundancy. Provided is an electrical circuit that provides a boosting circuit that all in one provides a regulated step-up voltage to a non-linear device such as an array of light emitting diodes (LEDs) used in a liquid crystal display (LCD). The unique placement of the current sensing circuit within the boosting circuitry eliminates the need for a separate current regulating circuit, thus minimizing the circuitry needed to provide a constant back lighting LED array of constant luminosity.
