Abstract: A heat exchanger for an air-conditioning circuit of a vehicle. The heat exchanger enables heat exchange between fluids and has a surface in contact with one of the fluids. The surface is formed from aluminum and/or from aluminum alloy. The surface is coated with an alumina layer and a reinforcing layer. The reinforcing layer includes an organic substance and a mineral substance. The organic substance includes at least one polymer and the mineral substance is capable of reacting with the aluminum in order to form an anticorrosion material.

Abstract: When products to be shipped are temperature-sensitive, it is necessary to maintain a substantially uniform and constant temperature to avoid spoilage. As a result, thermal shields are often placed on top of the products. Many designs for thermal shields have been considered in the past but improvements are still desired. Accordingly, there is provided a multilayer thermal shield (100) comprising a thermally conductive layer (108), and at least one heat exchange fluid circuit (120) coupled to a first surface of the thermally conductive layer, the at least one heat exchange fluid circuit comprising at least one inlet (124) configured to permit the ingress of heat exchange fluid. The thermal shield further comprises an outer insulation layer (104) connected to a first surface of the thermally conductive layer (108) and comprising grooves designed to receive the heat exchange fluid circuit. The thermal shield further comprises an inner insulation layer (110) connected to a second surface of the thermally conductive layer (108).

Abstract: This application relates to graphite heat exchangers having a graphite block with graphite tubes disposed within the graphite block. The graphite tubes can include a coating that is cured in order to plasticize the coating and make the graphite tubes more corrosion resistant. The graphite block and the graphite tubes can be impregnated with a phenolic resin for improving the rigidity and structural integrity of the graphite block and the graphite tubes. The coating surrounding the graphite tubes can be a Teflon based coating, such as Tefzel, which can improve the durability of the graphite heat exchanger. The graphite tubes can be prepared by first coating the graphite tubes with the coating material and then curing or baking the graphite tubes in order to plasticize or otherwise cure the coating material.
