    摘要: To reduce speckle, a composite laser line beam is formed by the superposition of coherent laser line beams projected at different angles towards a target during use. The superposition of the coherent laser line beams combined with their differing angles of incidence relative to the target allow the composite laser line beam to have a reduced amount of speckles, which is desirable when illuminating the target in imaging applications. The laser line projector generally has a frame, a projection plane, laser sources and a reformatting assembly. During use, the laser sources project coherent laser beams towards the reformatting assembly which reformats the coherent laser beams into the coherent laser line beams to form the composite laser line beam.

    摘要: Systems, devices, and methods for eyebox expansion by exit pupil replication in scanning laser-based wearable heads-up displays (“WHUDs”) are described. The WHUDs described herein each include a scanning laser projector (“SLP”), a holographic combiner, and an optical replicator positioned in the optical path therebetween. For each light signal generated by the SLP, the optical replicator receives the light signal and redirects each one of N>1 instances of the light signal towards the holographic combiner effectively from a respective one of N spatially-separated virtual positions for the SLP. The holographic combiner converges each one of the N instances of the light signal to a respective one of N spatially-separated exit pupils at the eye of the user. In this way, multiple instances of the exit pupil are distributed over the area of the eye and the eyebox of the WHUD is expanded.

An optical system may include a light source providing an incident first light beam.     摘要: A light irradiation apparatus (31) includes a light source unit (40) and an irradiation optical system (5). In the light source unit, light source parts (4) arrayed in a plane emit laser light toward the irradiation optical system from different directions along the plane, and by the irradiation optical system, the laser light is guided along an optical axis (J1) to an irradiation plane (320). The irradiation optical system includes a division lens part (62), an optical path length difference generation part (61), and a condensing lens part (63). The division lens part includes element lenses (620) that divide light incident from the light source parts. The optical path length difference generation part includes transparent parts (610) having different optical path lengths from each other, and light that has passed through the element lenses respectively enters the transparent parts. The condensing lens part superimposes irradiation regions (50) of the light from the transparent parts on each other on the irradiation plane. Accordingly, the irradiation plane can be irradiated with high-intensity light having a uniform intensity distribution.

    摘要: A diode laser beam combining apparatus for producing a high combined beam power density in the far field at reduced levels of power consumption and heat dissipation includes an array of semiconductor laser emitters arranged in a collinear manner. The apparatus includes a cylindrical lens for collimating emitter beams generated by the laser emitters in a direction perpendicular to a junction plane of the laser emitters. The apparatus further includes a micro-optic array and a long focal length cylindrical lens. The micro-optic array is configured to perform a rotational transformation of the collimated emitter beams. The micro-optic array has a lateral spacing in a direction parallel to the junction plane of the laser emitters that matches the emitter pitch. The long focal length cylindrical lens collimates emitter beams in the direction perpendicular to the junction plane after passing through the micro-optic array.
