    摘要: Nanoparticle composites and nanocapsules for guest encapsulation and methods for synthesizing same. One synthesis method includes providing a nanoparticle template; and forming a shell on the nanoparticle template by polymerizing a monomer on the nanoparticle template to form a nanoparticle composite defined by the shell and the nanoparticle template. Another synthesis method includes providing a nanoparticle template; forming a shell on the nanoparticle template by polymerizing a monomer on the nanoparticle template; and dissolving the nanoparticle template to thereby form a hollow nanocapsule defined by the shell. Another synthesis method includes providing a nanoparticle template carrying a guest molecule; and forming a shell on the nanoparticle template by polymerizing a monomer on the nanoparticle template to thereby encapsulate the guest molecule. This method can also include dissolving the nanoparticle template to form a nanocapsule defined by the capsule shell material, wherein the guest material resides in the nanocapsule.

    摘要: The invention relates to a collection of composite plateletlike particles comprising a core and at least one coating layer consisting essentially of a compound having from 60 to 95% by weight of carbon and from 5 to 25% by weight of nitrogen, the balance to 100% being selected from elements of the group consisting of hydrogen, oxygen and sulfur. The invention also relates to processes for the manufacture thereof, to polymer compositions containing it, and to the use thereof as effect pigments. Preferably, the process for preparing the instant collection of particles comprises the steps of (a) suspending plateletlike particles in a liquid; (b) optionally adding a surface modifier, a polymerisation catalyst or both; (c) before or after step (b), adding one or more polymers containing nitrogen and carbon atoms, or one or more monomers which are capable to polymerize to said polymer; (d) effecting a polymeric coating layer to be formed on the surface of said plateletlike particles from the polymers or monomers added at step (c); (e) isolating said plateletlike particles having said polymeric coating layer from the suspension; and (f) heating said plateletlike particles having said polymeric coating layer to a temperature of from 100null C. to 1000null C. in a gaseous environment.

    摘要: A process for the preparation of conductive polymers which comprises (a) mixing at least one monomer with at least one conductive component, solvent, at least one polymerization initiator, and an optional chain transfer component; (b) effecting solution polymerization by heating; (c) removing said solvent by azeotropic distillation in an aqueous phase to generate a mixture of polymer and conductive component; (d) drying and grinding the resulting mixture; thereafter dissolving the product resulting in at least one monomer, at least one initiator, and at least one crosslinking component, and an optional chain transfer agent to form an organic phase; (e) mixing said organic phase with a second aqueous phase comprised of water, stabilizer, and an alkali halide; (f) polymerizing the resulting suspension by heating; and (g) subsequently optionally washing and drying the polymeric product, and which product is comprised of polymer and conductive component dispersed therein.
