Abstract: Disclosed is a transmission scheme for transmitting a first modulated signal and a second modulated signal over the same frequency at the same time. According to the transmission scheme, a precoding weight multiplying unit multiplies a baseband signal after a first mapping and a baseband signal after a second mapping by a precoding weight and outputs the first modulated signal and the second modulated signal. In the precoding weight multiplying unit, precoding weights are regularly hopped.

Abstract: An apparatus for generating a radio frequency signal based on a symbol within a constellation diagram is provided. The constellation diagram is spanned by a first axis representing an in-phase component and an orthogonal second axis representing a quadrature component. The apparatus includes a processing unit configured to select one of a plurality of segments of the constellation diagram containing the symbol. The segment is delimited by two radially extending boundaries, wherein the two radially extending boundaries span an opening angle of the segment that is different from 90°. The processing unit is further configured to calculate a first coordinate of the symbol with respect to a third axis, and a second coordinate of the symbol with respect to a fourth axis. At least one of the third axis and the fourth axis coincides with one of the two radially extending boundaries. The apparatus further includes a plurality of digital-to-analog converter cells configured to generate the radio frequency signal using the first coordinate and the second coordinate.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method of transmitting broadcast signals. The method includes, processing input streams into plural PLPs; encoding data of the each PLPs according to code rates, wherein the encoding data of the each PLPs further includes, encoding data of at least one PLP with LDPC codes, bit interleaving the LDPC encoded data of the PLP, mapping the bit interleaved data onto a set of constellations according to the code rate, MIMO encoding the mapped data, and time interleaving the MIMO encoded data; building at least one signal frame by mapping the encoded data of the each PLPs; and modulating data in the built signal frame by OFDM method and transmitting the broadcast signals having the modulated data, wherein the bit interelaved data of each PLPs are mapped by using either QAM, NUQ, or NUC.

Abstract: A scheduling node (600), a transmitting node (602), a receiving node (604), and methods therein, for communication of data on a shared radio resource. The scheduling node (600) divides wireless devices into multiple groups, and assigns group-specific rotation angles to the groups so that the transmitting node (602) should apply a group-specific rotation angle when transmitting data to or from a wireless device in the corresponding group. In addition, a repetition factor is assigned to each wireless device such that the data is repeated consecutively according to the repetition factor, before transmission. The repetition factor may correspond to the number of groups.

Abstract: A digital signal up-converting apparatus includes: a clock generating circuit arranged to generate a reference clock signal; an adjusting circuit coupled to the clock generating circuit and arranged to generate a first clock signal and a second clock signal according to the reference clock signal; a baseband circuit coupled to the adjusting circuit for receiving the first clock signal, wherein the baseband circuit further generates a digital output signal according to the first clock signal; and a sampling circuit coupled to the adjusting circuit and the baseband circuit for receiving the second clock signal and the digital output signal, wherein the second clock signal and the digital output signal are non-overlapping; wherein the sampling circuit samples the digital output signal based on the second clock signal and then combines the sampled digital output signal in order to generate a combined digital signal.

Abstract: A transmit power measurement apparatus includes a transmit power detection path, a compensation circuit and a tracking circuit. The compensation circuit includes a programmable filter device and a compensation controller. The programmable filter device generates a filter output. The compensation controller sets the programmable filter device at least based on a frequency response of the transmit power detection path. The tracking circuit generates a transmit power tracking result at least based on the filter output.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for aligning amplitude and phase signals in a polar receiver. A receiver generates digital amplitude and phase signals representing the amplitude and phase of a modulated input signal. At least one of the digital signals is filtered using a fractional delay filter with a variable delay. The delay of the fractional delay filter is adjusted to align the amplitude and phase signals. In some embodiments, an error vector magnitude is determined by comparing in-phase and quadrature values of the signal with values corresponding to a constellation point, and the delay is adjusted based on the error vector magnitude. The fractional delay filter may be a finite impulse response filter with coefficients stored in a lookup table that correspond to different delays.
