Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may measure a reference signal over a first subset of a set of measurement occasions using a serving UE receive beam according to a serving beam measurement periodicity. The UE may measure the reference signal over a second subset of the set of measurement occasions using a first subset of candidate UE receive beams of a set of candidate UE receive beams. The UE may measure the reference signal over a third subset of the set of measurement occasions using a second subset of candidate UE receive beams of the set of candidate UE receive beams. The UE may perform beam switching to a candidate UE receive beam of the set of candidate UE receive beams based at least in part on a result of measuring the reference signal.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for notifying a user of a wireless mobile device of the contents of a signboard. In an aspect, the wireless mobile device receives a notification in a broadcast message transmitted on a broadcast channel of a short-range wireless network, the notification representing the contents of the signboard, decodes the notification without connecting to the short-range wireless network, and provides data representing the notification to the user of the wireless mobile device. In an aspect, a wireless access point coupled to the signboard encodes the notification in the broadcast message transmitted on the broadcast channel of the short-range wireless network supported by the wireless access point and broadcasts the notification in the broadcast message transmitted on the broadcast channel of the short-range wireless network.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive handover information associated with one or more neighbor cells. The UE may identify that a first discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle associated with a first subscriber identity module (SIM) of the UE at least partially overlaps with a second DRX cycle associated with a second SIM of the UE. The UE may identify that at least one of the first DRX cycle or the second DRX cycle does not overlap with a third DRX cycle associated with a neighbor cell of the one or more neighbor cells. The UE may transmit, to the neighbor cell, a message associated with a handover of at least one of the first SIM or the second SIM to the neighbor cell. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may adaptively switch between hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) monitoring modes to support power savings. In a first HARQ skipping mode, the UE may transmit an uplink message corresponding to a HARQ identifier and may receive a positive acknowledgment (ACK) message in a HARQ monitoring occasion associated with the HARQ identifier. Upon receiving the ACK message, the UE refrains from monitoring a subsequent HARQ monitoring occasion associated with the HARQ identifier while in the first HARQ skipping mode (e.g., an aggressive HARQ skipping mode). The UE may periodically enter a periodic evaluation mode from the first HARQ skipping mode, in which the UE monitors a subsequent HARQ monitoring occasion after receiving an ACK message to check for false ACK messages. If a false ACK message is detected, the UE enters a first HARQ skipping prohibited mode.
