    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may measure a reference signal over a first subset of a set of measurement occasions using a serving UE receive beam according to a serving beam measurement periodicity. The UE may measure the reference signal over a second subset of the set of measurement occasions using a first subset of candidate UE receive beams of a set of candidate UE receive beams. The UE may measure the reference signal over a third subset of the set of measurement occasions using a second subset of candidate UE receive beams of the set of candidate UE receive beams. The UE may perform beam switching to a candidate UE receive beam of the set of candidate UE receive beams based at least in part on a result of measuring the reference signal.

    Abstract: A UE may be configured to select narrower or wider beams that may be suitable for use with a current UE mobility, scattering environment, etc. The UE may track changes to an identified beam of a certain width, and so may recover from tracking or other radio link failures by switching to a beam that is spatially adjacent or to a beam of a different width. The UE may identify a first beam associated with a first beam width based on at least one reference signal received by the UE. The UE may further determine a set of beams based on the first beam width that is associated with the identified first beam, and the determined set of beams may include at least one beam corresponding to the first beam width. The UE may further measure respective channel qualities associated with each beam of the determined set of beams.

    Abstract: Techniques and devices for wireless communication are described. A communication device may identify a set of beam level selection parameters. The set of beam level selection parameters may include traffic information, channel information, application information, or any combination thereof. The communication device may select, based on the identified set of beam level selection parameters, a beam level, from a set of beam levels, different from a baseline beam level associated with the wireless communication. The selected beam level may be associated with a number of antenna elements different from a number of antenna elements associated with the baseline beam level. The communication device may perform the wireless communication based on the selected beam level.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method may include a user equipment (UE) receiving a first set of multiple sets of synchronization signal block (SSB) signals from a network entity. The first set of multiple sets of SSB signals may be associated with a first antenna port of the network entity corresponding to a first polarization. Additionally, the UE may receive a second set of multiple sets of SSB signals from the network entity. The second set of multiple sets of SSB signals may be associated with a second antenna port of the network entity corresponding to a second polarization. The UE may then transmit an indication of a beam pair for communication between the UE and the network entity based at least in part on receiving the first set of multiple sets of SSB signals and the second set of multiple sets of SSB signals.
