Disclosed is a combined energy supply system of wind, photovoltaic, solar thermal power and medium-based heat storage, capable of storing the energy which would have been “abandoned wind” and “abandoned light” temporarily in the form of heat by medium-based energy storage. The invention relates to the field of hydropower scheduling, and relates to a method for multi-objective optimal operations of cascade hydropower plants based on relative target proximity and marginal analysis principle. The invention constructs an optimization model with relative target proximity by introducing positive and negative ideal points of objectives so that a multi-objective optimization is efficiently handled. A strategy for processing complex operation constraints is proposed and coupled with genetic algorithm to solve the model. Thus, optimal solution sets under different weight coefficients of objectives can be determined. Following this, marginal benefit and marginal cost are introduced to represent a relationship between multiple objective values and corresponding weight coefficients. According to principle of profit maximization in economics, a marginal analysis of objective weight coefficient is finally made to determine benefit-dominant area, cost-dominant area and equilibrium area, and there by obtaining a basis of multi-objective decision-making.

Methods for optimization of liquid oil production by huff-n-puff in shale reservoirs to achieve an improved (and optimal) oil recovery factor. The process determines and utilizes the optimum huff and puff times, number of cycles and soaking time under practical operation and reservoir conditions. The huff time in the process is a period so long that the pressure near the wellbore reaches the set maximum injection pressure during the huff period. The puff time in the process is the time required for the pressure near the wellbore to reach the set minimum production pressure during the puff period. Soaking is typically not necessary during the huff-n-puff gas injection in shale oil reservoirs. The number of huff-n-puff cycles is determinable by the time in which the economic rate cut-off is reached.

The instant application is directed towards methods for removing sulfide from a wastewater stream. The pH of the wastewater stream is adjusted to between 7.0 and 8.0. A first oxidizing agent is mixed with the wastewater stream, oxidizing the sulfide to elemental sulfur. The wastewater stream is then softened by mixing lime with the wastewater stream. The addition of lime further raises the pH of the wastewater stream to 10.0 or higher, and converts the elemental sulfur to soluble sulfide (S2-) and/or thio-sulfate. Calcium carbonate is precipitated and sulfide (S2-) and/or thio-sulfate is adsorbed thereon. Thereafter, the wastewater stream is directed to a solids-liquid separation process, which separates the calcium carbonate and adsorbed sulfide (S2-) and/or thio-sulfate from the wastewater stream. The solids-liquid separator produces an effluent that includes residual elemental sulfur. The effluent is then mixed with a second oxidizing agent, which oxidizes the residual elemental sulfur to sulfate, producing a treated effluent.
