Abstract: A pre-cleaner may include a plurality of spin tubes arranged side-by-side to form a row. Each spin tube may include a longitudinal axis, an inlet at a first end, and an outlet at a second end. The pre-cleaner may also include a manifold enveloping the outlets of the plurality of spin tubes and configured to receive and direct dust away from the outlets. The manifold may include a cover portion extending along and adjacent the row of spin tubes at a position along the longitudinal axis that is between the respective outlets and first ends of the spin tubes. The manifold may also include a trough extending along the row of spin tubes and defining a collection area that is arranged at a position along the longitudinal axis that is beyond the second ends of the spin tubes. A method of dust removal is also described.

Abstract: A filter cartridge for a filter for filtration of a fluid has a prismatic basic shape with a base face and a top face arranged parallel to each other and each having a polygonal basic shape. The prismatic basic shape is provided with a first lateral face and a second lateral face neighboring the first lateral face, wherein the first lateral face is an inflow surface and is substantially positioned perpendicular to the neighboring second lateral face. The prismatic basic shape has a third lateral face that is an outflow surface and is positioned at an angle relative to the first lateral face, wherein the angle is greater than 10° and smaller than 80°. A filter with such a filter cartridge is disclosed.

Abstract: A method of operating a cleaning process on a filter in a vehicle air intake includes passing air through the filter from an upstream side to a downstream side, and providing an exhaust duct having an inlet end adjacent the upstream side of the filter and an outlet end adjacent a cooling fan or other air-extraction device of the vehicle arranged to draw air through the exhaust duct from the inlet end to the outlet end. In a periodic cleaning subroutine, the rotational speed of the fan is increased from a first speed to a second speed, while a pulse of pressurized fluid is applied to a downstream side of the filter. The exhaust duct carries away material dislodged from the upstream side of the filter by the applied pulse, and the rotational speed of the fan is reduced to its original level.

Abstract: Provided is a construction machine capable of collecting foreign matter into a dust collection pocket and preventing the foreign matter from being scattered. The construction machine includes a cooler, an air passage forming member including a curved section, a dust-proof filter, a cooling fan generating a normal wind for cooling and a reverse wind opposite thereto, a dust collection pocket, and a turning member. The dust collection pocket has an opening and collects foreign matter at a position downstream of the inner wall surface of the outer corner of the curved section. The turning member is turned about a turning axis by the normal wind and the reverse wind, thereby being moved between a close position to close the opening and an open position to open the opening.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided herein for a dust box cleanout routine of an evaporative emissions control (EVAP) system of a vehicle. In one example, a method is provided for an engine of a vehicle, comprising, during travel on an unpaved road, selectively discharging a dust box housed in a vent line of an evaporative emissions control (EVAP) system by opening a discharge valve of the dust box leading to atmosphere. In this way, an accumulation of dust on the air filter and in the dust box of the EVAP system may be reduced, thereby maintaining an efficiency of the EVAP system.
