    Abstract: According to the present disclosure, features, components and techniques useable for providing air cleaner arrangements are provided. Many of the features relate to an axial seal arrangement provided on a filter cartridge. A typical filter cartridge, for use with these features, is a filter cartridge having opposite flow ends. Example media arrangements that fit this characterization are described. Seal arrangements provided with an axial housing sealing engagement surface are shown. A seal arrangement is provided. Also, air cleaner assemblies having advantageous features therein are provided. Further, air cleaner housings are described, with selected, preferred features for engagement with filter cartridges.

    Abstract: An air filter element includes a filter arrangement, an elbow, and a filter element seal member. The filter arrangement includes a filter media pack having a dirty air inlet and a clean air outlet, wherein air flowing through the clean air outlet flows in a first axial direction and the clean air outlet defines a filter arrangement cross sectional area. The elbow has a first end constructed to extend from the filter arrangement clean air outlet, a second end wherein air flowing through the second end flows in a second axial direction, and an air flow enclosure extending from the elbow first end to the elbow second end. The air flow enclosure includes an air deflector constructed to direct air from the first axial direction to the second axial direction, wherein the second axial direction is different from the first axial direction, and an interior volume between the elbow first end and the elbow second end. The filter element seal member is located on the elbow second end, wherein the filter element seal member is constructed to seal to a clean air intake, the filter element seal member located on the elbow second end defining a seal member cross sectional area. The filter element can be characterized as having a ratio of the seal member cross sectional area to the filter arrangement cross sectional area of at least 0.5. The filter element can have a z-filter media pack for a pleated media pack. The air filter element can be arranged in an air cleaner.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a safety filter element for backing up a failure of a main filter element comprising a primary filter medium pack. The safety filter element comprises a secondary filter medium pack and a shell wherein a first portion of an inner side of a circumferential wall of the shell is surrounding a circumferential side of the secondary filter medium pack, and wherein a second portion of the inner side of the circumferential wall of the shell is radially delimiting a cavity located between a first opening of the shell and a fluid inlet side of the secondary filter medium pack. The cavity allows for receiving or at least partly receiving the primary filter medium pack of the main filter element. The safety filter element comprises a first seal member that comprises a first circumferential sealing portion for sealing to the shell and a second circumferential sealing portion for sealing to the main filter element. The second circumferential sealing portion has a contour shape of single-fold rotational symmetry.

    Abstract: The invention relates to genetically encoded fusion proteins comprised of a capture component that binds a target with high affinity and a peptide polymer, such as elastin-like polypeptides, that display phase behavior and can be used for purification. The invention further relates to methods for optimizing capture fusion proteins for individual biologic targets such that phase separation occurs under desirable conditions, such as at room temperature, lower concentrations of salt, and/or at suitable pH ranges and optimized capture domains and polypeptides with phase behavior that have been identified by the optimization methods.
