    摘要: A method in an integrated circuit device to compress images, including: generating, by an image processing logic circuit and based on first data representative of an input image, input data; generating, by an inference logic circuit and based on the input data, a column of inputs; converting, by the inference logic circuit using voltage drivers connected to wordlines and memory cells storing a weight matrix, and into output currents of the memory cells summed in bitlines, results of bitwise multiplications of bits in the column of inputs and bits stored in the memory cells in a form of threshold voltages of the memory cells; digitizing currents summed in the bitlines to obtain column outputs; generating, by the inference logic circuit, output data based on the column outputs; and generating, using the output data, second data representative of an output image compressed from the input image.

    摘要: A depth pixel of a time-of-flight (ToF) sensor includes a common photogate disposed in a center region of the depth pixel, a plurality of floating diffusion regions disposed in a peripheral region surrounding the center region, a plurality of demodulation transfer gates disposed in the peripheral region, and a plurality of overflow gates disposed in the peripheral region. The demodulation transfer gates transfer a photo charge collected by the common photogate to the plurality of floating diffusion regions. The demodulation transfer gates are symmetric with respect to each of a horizontal line and a vertical line that pass through a center of the depth pixel and are substantially perpendicular to each other. The overflow gates drain the photo charge collected by the common photogate, and are symmetric with respect to each of the horizontal line and the vertical line.

The image sensor may include a substrate including a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, a photoelectric conversion layer in the substrate, and a lower capacitor connection pattern on the first surface of the substrate. The second surface of the substrate may be configured to receive incident light. The lower capacitor connection pattern may include a capacitor region and a landing region protruding from the capacitor region. The image sensors may also include a capacitor structure including a first conductive pattern, a dielectric pattern, and a second conductive pattern sequentially stacked on the capacitor region, a first wire on the capacitor structure and connected to the second conductive pattern, and a second wire connected to the landing region. The first conductive pattern may be connected to the lower capacitor connection pattern. A surface of the first wire facing the substrate and a surface of the second wire facing the substrate may be coplanar.

    摘要: This disclosure presents a novel smart CMOS imaging sensor and the methods and system for imaging of an object using the smart CMOS imaging sensor. A CMOS-implemented 3D imaging system compromises a wise-pixels-containing imaging sensor and a scanning light point or beam to achieve 3D shape reconstruction, by recording performance of each wise-pixel to the incident light over the period of “valve modulation”. The “valve modulation” is a one-time process of accumulation and release of charges. A frame period comprises multiple valve modulations. In the “frame period”, each wise-pixel will repeat the process that temporarily stores the light intensity, and then release, along with a selection of preferred intensity (e.g. the globally maximum intensity, or the locally maximum intensities, and or the intensities above a certain threshold) during the whole frame period, and the selected intensity and the corresponding time will be exported to the computing units. The selection of the different preferred light intensities is implemented by memory-based, threshold-based, and difference-based approaches, respectively. The obtained maximum intensity and time information can be used to reconstruct 3D geometric information of the surface of the object scanned by moving light source.
