    Abstract: A light source device includes: a mounting board; a plurality of light-emitting parts disposed on the mounting board, each of the plurality of light-emitting parts being configured to be individually turned on; a light-shielding member defining an opening; and a light-guide member supported by the light-shielding member, the light-guide member comprising a Fresnel lens portion, wherein, in a top view, the Fresnel lens portion is located within an area of the opening of the light-shielding member. In the top view, irradiation areas of the respective light-emitting parts are at least partially separated from each other.

    Abstract: Light modification devices for photography, videography, or other image capturing systems which provide methods for diffusing and shaping light from flash lighting or continuous light sources to create a diffused 360 degree thin plane of light around a subject. The light modification devices are capable of producing lighting conditions that can accentuate raised textures and depth of a subject without casting hard shadows with minimal light seepage outside of the plane.

    Abstract: A light source module includes an illumination element and an adjustable light diffusing material. The light source module is configured to receive or generate a control signal for adjusting diffusion of light emitted from the light source module and accordingly adjust an amount of diffusion of light emitted from the light source module. In some embodiments, an adjustable light diffusing material includes a polymer stabilized cholesteric texture (PSCT), a smectic phase liquid crystal, a polymer network liquid crystal (PNLC), or other suitable material. A controller for a light source module may determine a level of diffusion based on a level of inclusion of a wide-angle field of view of a wide-angle lens system or a telephoto field of view of a telephoto lens system in a composite camera field of view that includes a combination of the wide angle field of view and the telephoto field of view. Also, the controller may determine a level of diffusion based or an estimated distance to a scene in a camera field of view that is to be captured.
