摘要: A system and method for presenting video asset information to a viewer to assist the view in selecting a video asset for viewing. The video assets can be available from a plurality of different video asset sources, such as VOD (video on demand), PVR (personal video recorders) and broadcast (including over the air, cable, and satellite). Images from the video assets are displayed in a uniform manner, along with information about the video assets. The information includes data in a metadata category. The view can select one of the video assets for viewing, but also can navigate using metadata categories such as genre, actors, director etc. This allows a much easier and natural navigating and selection process for viewers.

摘要: In some examples, one or more processors configured by executable instructions may receive an audio signal and data to embed in the audio signal. For example, the data may be received dynamically from one or more data sources. The one or more processors may embed the received data in real time into the audio signal as embedded data based at least in part on controlling a phase angle of a selected frequency component of the audio signal. For instance, the embedded data may include at least one of text, a bar code, a quick response code, an image, a uniform resource locator (URL), or multimedia content. Additionally, the one or more processors may send the audio signal with the embedded data over a network to a plurality of electronic devices that include respective decoders for extracting the embedded data from the audio signal.

摘要: A method and apparatus for recognizing and synchronizing to in-band data at a multimedia device is provided. A content stream includes in-band data. The in-band data is processed and in-band data pattern data associated with the content stream are created. Metadata are attached to the event identification data. The event identification data are provided to multimedia devices which receive broadcasted multimedia content streams containing video programs with in-band data. The in-band data are processed and compared to the event identification data. If a match occurs, the multimedia device uses the metadata to perform specified actions.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for packaging media and data for transmission over a broadband communications network link for display at a terminal destination. Features of the method included creating desired media segments for transmission to the terminal destination and for creating targeting information, for example in whole or in part in the form of metadata, for transmission to the terminal destination. Other features include packaging the created media segments and the created targeting information in a single package and unpacking the single package for display of the targeted media at the terminal destination. In another aspect, the invention can provide a method for unpacking media and data for display at a terminal destination implementing, at the terminal destination, receiving a single package containing media segments and instructions regarding handling of the media segments, quickly unpacking the media segments and the instructions from the single package and, based on the unpacked instructions, assembling one or more of the media segments for display at the terminal destination.

The service application is configured to: receive geographic location information of a radio receiver via the intermediate communication platform; determine one or more radio broadcasts available to the radio receiver according to the geographic location information; and send metadata for the radio broadcast, the metadata including an indication whether content of the radio broadcast is suitable for an audio fingerprinting process to the radio receiver via the intermediate communication platform.

摘要: An apparatus for transmitting broadcasting signal using transmitter identification scaled by 4-bit injection level code and method using the same are disclosed. An apparatus for transmitting broadcasting signal according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a waveform generator configured to generate a host broadcasting signal; a transmitter identification signal generator configured to generate a transmitter identification signal for identifying a transmitter, the transmitter identification signal scaled by an injection level code; and a combiner configured to inject the transmitter identification signal into the host broadcasting signal in a time domain so that the transmitter identification signal is transmitted synchronously with the host broadcasting signal.

摘要: A method and an apparatus for receiving broadcast signals thereof are disclosed. The apparatus for receiving broadcast signals, the apparatus comprises a receiver to receive the broadcast signals, a demodulator to demodulate the received broadcast signals by an OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex) scheme, a frame parser to parse a signal frame from the demodulated broadcast signals, wherein the signal frame includes service data corresponding to each of a plurality of physical paths, a time deinterleaver to time deinterleave service data in each physical path by a TI (Time Interleaving) block, wherein the time deinterleaver further performs inserting at least one virtual FEC block into at least one TI block of the service data, wherein each TI block includes a variable number of FEC blocks of the service data, wherein a number of the at least one virtual FEC block is defined based on a maximum number of FEC blocks of a TI block and a decoder to decode the time deinterleaved service data.

Control data may be associated with one or more visual components of one or more video images. The control data and images may be combined into a digital broadcast data stream. The device may receive the images and control data. The images may be presented on a display device. The receiving device may use the control data to present or store a perceptible indication that ancillary information is associated with the visual components in conjunction with presenting the images. The device may use the control data to present or store the ancillary information in response to an input signal.
