Abstract:
A composite electronic component includes a sintered body, an inductor part and a capacitor part which are formed in the sintered body, and a ground electrode which is formed on an outer surface of the sintered body to be electrically connected to a first capacitor electrode of the capacitor part and not to reach an outer surface of the inductor part on the outer surface of the sintered body.
Abstract:
An RF coaxial connector assembly, having an inner and outer conductor, employs a washer-like capacitor fitted over the outer conductor for low frequency isolation and employs a transformer adapted for connection between a source of RF signals and the inner and outer conductors of the assembly for reducing the RF currents on the outer conductor. Reduction of the RF currents on the outer conductor is effective to reduce the radiation of RF energy from a coaxial cable coupling the connector assembly to the load.
Abstract:
A filter connector is disclosed for reducing electro-magnetic interference. The connector may be in the form of an adaptor which is mounted between mating plug and receptacle members of electrical connectors, such as the type utilized in the telephone industry. The adaptor comprises a monolithic ceramic capacitor mounted between the termination ends of plug and receptacle connector members, with the edges of the capacitor disposed between the two rows of contacts in the connector members. The capacitor has a plurality of parallel, spaced live electrodes on its opposite faces engaging the contacts in the connector members. At least one ground plane is embedded in the ceramic substrate of the capacitor, and is coupled to the housing of the connector members. Other connector and capacitor circuit configurations are disclosed.
Abstract:
A circuit for the parallel coupling of audio frequency transmitting stations in a wave band filter construction is described, in which the wave band filter consists of two resonant circuits tuned to an audio frequency essentially free of the line harmonics, coupled magnetically to each other, and electrically separated, and in which the line-side circuit has been designed as a series resonant circuit, and the capacitor of the generator-side resonant circuit has been connected in parallel to the audio generator and to the coupling inductance of an ironless coupling transformer.
Abstract:
An electrical filter with a Nyquist flank characteristic is provided for generating a vestigial side-band characterized in that two identical exact separating filters are connected in cascade in such a way that the output of one filter section in the first separating filter is connected to the input of the second separating filter, and in which a signal injected at the input passes through two filter sections having the same attenuation characteristics, and in that two of the filter sections of the separating filters are terminated in identical ohmic resistances, and in that the characteristic functions assigned to the filter sections are self-reciprocal functions.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a low loss transmission line having a slotted metal deposited or etched on a high permittivity substrate. With various sizes, shapes and configurations of slots, the transmission line may be used as part of components such as hybrid junctions, couplers, filters, mixers, amplifiers, ferrite devices, and resonators. Novel slot/coax and slot/stripline junctions or connections are disclosed as well as novel methods of slot excitation.
Abstract:
A low cost and reduced bulk electric filter construction, in particular for telecommunication equipment, in the form of an assembly of inductances and capacitors, in which all the inductances of the filter use as magnetic cores a common ferrite block consisting of two contiguous parts. The capacitors are preferably grouped in a single insulating wafer placed in contact with the outside surface of one of the said contiguous parts.
Abstract:
Transients in electrical power systems are capable of causing operational malfunctions in, and possible damage to, delicate equipment such as computers and data processing apparatus. The present disclosure is directed to the design of an inductancecapacitance filter which effectively suppresses externallyproduced transients as well as those generated within the load itself.
Abstract:
A coupler consists of two lengths of waveguide having a common narrow wall and which are capable of supporting the TE10 and TE20 modes of wave propagation, and inserted in a gap in said wall substituting for the part removed from the gap, a reactive structure having elements resonant at a predetermined operating frequency and situated in succession along the guide. The coupler can be used as a simple coupler when the elements are constituted by three closed rings and couple energy fed in at the input of one guide into the other guide or as a diplexer when there are six rings and energies at two different frequencies are fed to the input ends of the guides.
