Abstract:
An adaptor assembly for use with a battery-operated hand tool which includes a battery pack-accepting portion to which a battery pack can be connected utilizes an adaptor having a body which is positionable between the battery pack-accepting portion of the hand tool and the battery pack so that electrical current which is intended to flow between the battery pack and the hand tool during tool operation passes through the adaptor. A foot-operable ON/OFF switch is connected to the adaptor so that operation of the foot-operable switch selectively permits or shuts off the flow of electrical current between the battery pack and the hand tool so that when the adaptor is positioned between the battery pack-accepting portion of the hand tool and the battery pack, the ON/OFF operation of the hand tool can be controlled by way of the foot-operable ON/OFF switch.
Abstract:
An ocular surgical apparatus is provided, including a surgical control device such as a foot pedal configured to be employed to control at least one ocular surgical parameter, and a controller configured to receive a series of values from the surgical control device and evaluate the series of values provided from the surgical control device, the series of values provided using a buffer comprising a detection area and an exclusion area. Presence of a desired value in the detection area and an absence of a contrary indication in the exclusion area is determined by the controller to indicate a switch associated with the surgical control device is requested by a user of the surgical control device.
Abstract:
A method and system for remotely switching a kitchen garbage disposal on or off in an area where there's risk of electrical shock due to the presence of water associated with a kitchen's countertop is disclosed. The method is accomplished by installing an electrically actuated foot pedal switch within the existing electrical circuit which powers the kitchen garbage disposal. The electrically actuated foot pedal switch is moveable between an on and an off position. In the on or pressed down position, electrical current is supplied thereby supplying power to the kitchen garbage disposal. When the electrically actuated foot pedal switch is released it moves up to the off position wherein electrical current is cut off to the kitchen garbage disposal. The supply current is provided by use of an electrical cord, wirelessly or by voice activation from the actuated foot pedal switch to the kitchen garbage disposals electrical power input.
Abstract:
A switch is provided including an actuating body and a base where the actuating body is movably disposed upon the base, the actuating body has an arcuate shape delimited by generally parallel arc edges joined at their ends by curved edges, the actuating body includes an upper surface which inclines in a direction from a concave side of the arcuate shaped actuating body to a convex side thereof, and the actuating body is configured to pivot in a direction toward at least one of the end curved edges.
Abstract:
A switch (1), in particular a foot-operated switch, with a housing (2), in which a switching device (4) is arranged, wherein a leadthrough with a bearing (6) is provided on opposite sides of the housing (2), and a pivotable pedal (3) can be fixed to the bearings (6). The pedal (3) can be positioned removably on the bearings (6) and, in the state in which it is positioned on the bearings (6), can be secured on the bearings (6) in each case via at least one connecting element (12).
Abstract:
A foot operated control apparatus for randomly selecting any function and subsequently activating that function of a multi-function device that includes a base assembly and a foot operator assembly. The foot operator assembly is capable of being articulated in at least distinct three directions of travel with respect to the base assembly. The foot operator assembly may be selectively moved by the foot of the user in any of the directions, separately or in combination, to provide a floating-like movement. This apparatus includes indicating means for providing physical sensory indications to the user during the random selection and activation of a function.
Abstract:
The control pedal (7) for an electric machine (3) comprises a movable member (9) connected to a foot support (11) and adapted to be actuated by the foot of the user, whose heel rests on the plate (10). When the pedal (7) is not in use, the member (9) may be lowered against the plate (10), whereas the cord (8) and that which is provided for the plug (6), are wound about the portions (12) forming bobbins.
Abstract:
A seat-contact switch for generating a "seat occupied" signal is combined into a compact constructional unit with an axially resilient actuating device, which extends in a straight line between the seat suspension and the seat frame and which automatically compensates for elastic and permanent deformation or settling phenomena of the seat suspension resulting in a reduction of its unloaded length and which utilizes an adjusting screw connected between the seat and seat frame which screw causes adjustment of the point of make-break contact for the "seat occupied" signal.
Abstract:
A foot control of the treadle operated type has a latching mechanism which normally latches the treadle in an inoperative position and which must be released before the treadle can be moved to an operative position. The latch mechanism includes a latch plate which, as the latch mechanism is being set to latch the treadle in its inoperative position, is moved to a restricting position wherein it restricts access to the treadle by the foot of an operator or by a foreign object. The latch plate is yieldably constrained to restricting position after the latch mechanism is set, and must be moved out of its restricting position to re-establish free access to the treadle and release the latch mechanism. The direction in which the latch plate must be moved for moving it out of its restricting position is opposite from the direction in which the treadle must be moved to reach its operative position.
Abstract:
A pedal lever and switch support assembly adapted to be mounted on the firewall of a vehicle wherein the pivot section of the pedal lever is pivotably and slidably supported by a support bracket that carries a switch actuatable by the pivot section when slidably moved in the support bracket.
