The display module includes a backlight module; a light control cell; a display liquid crystal cell; a first polarizer; a second polarizer; and a composite optical film. Along a thickness direction of the display module, the light control cell is disposed between the backlight module and the display liquid crystal cell and on a light-exiting surface of the backlight module; the first polarizer is disposed on a side of the display liquid crystal cell facing away from the light control cell; the second polarizer is disposed between the display liquid crystal cell and the light control cell; the composite optical film is disposed between the display liquid crystal cell and the backlight module; and the composite optical film is configured to transmit P-polarized light and reflect S-polarized light.

A second configuration includes: a second display unit that emits third image light and fourth image light; a half mirror; and a third reflective mirror that reflects, toward the half mirror, the third image light reflected by the half mirror. A third configuration includes: a second display element; and a first reflector that reflects fifth image light from the second display element. The first reflector includes reflective surfaces for forming display images based on the fifth image light.

摘要: A near eye display (NED) includes multiple PBP optical elements combined with one or more C-plates to improve optical angular performance. The PBP optical elements may be configured for beam steering or for focusing light to a point. A C-plate may reduce or eliminate an undesirable polarization phase shift introduced by the PBP optical elements to angular, off-axis light. Birefringence of the PBP optical elements produces such a polarization phase shift. A C-plate provides an additional polarization phase shift that is opposite to the extra polarization phase shift by the PBP optical elements. Thus, the additional polarization phase shift by the C-plate at least partially reduces the phase shift by the PBP element.

摘要: Provided are a reflection film, which enables high visible light transmittance, an increase in the brightness of a display image, and favorable transparency of an external tint, a windshield glass, and a head-up display system. The reflection film includes a selective reflection layer formed of a cholesteric liquid crystal layer with a cholesteric liquid crystalline phase immobilized. In each of a wavelength range of 400 nm or more and less than 500 nm and a wavelength range of 500 nm or more and less than 600 nm, a maximum value of a natural light reflectivity is 10% to 25%, the greatest difference between the greatest maximum value and the smallest minimum value of the natural light reflectivity is 3% or more, and a total value of wavelength bandwidths in a region where a reflectivity is higher than an average value of the maximum value and the minimum value of the natural light reflectivity is 20 nm to 80 nm. In a wavelength range of 600 nm or more and 800 nm or less, a maximum value of a natural light reflectivity is 10% to 25%, and a total value of wavelength bandwidths in a region where a reflectivity is higher than an average value of the maximum value and the minimum value of the natural light reflectivity is 120 nm or more.

摘要: A polarizer and a display device are provided. In the polarizer, on a basis of using an optical compensation layer to compensate a birefringence of liquid crystal molecules in a liquid crystal layer, a liquid crystal compensation layer is configured to compensate the birefringence of the liquid crystal molecules in the liquid crystal layer. The liquid crystal compensation layer adjusts a compensation value through a refractive index difference and a thickness of the liquid crystal molecules, so an adjustment range is large and a restriction is small, which can be matched with a high phase difference of the display device, and further improves side-view light leakage in a dark state of the liquid crystal display.

Provided is an image display apparatus including a light source, at least two image forming apparatuses, a quarter-wave plate, a beam splitter, a lens, and an eyepiece for each of eyes of a user. Out of the at least two image forming apparatuses, a first image forming apparatus is provided in a predetermined angular direction with respect to an optical axis of the lens, and a second image forming apparatus is provided in a direction substantially perpendicular to the optical axis of the lens. Light emitted from the light source is incident on the first image forming apparatus and the second image forming apparatus via the lens, the beam splitter, and the quarter-wave plate in this order. First image light emitted from the first image forming apparatus and second image light emitted from the second image forming apparatus are incident on each of the eyes of the user via the quarter-wave plate, the beam splitter, and the eyepiece in this order.
