Since the portable information terminal (1100) operates using electric power transmitted by radio, the portable information terminal (1100) does not require a battery and a charger.

    摘要: A wavefront sensor for measuring a wavefront contains an array of lenslets, a detector array, and a mask having a temporally fixed pattern containing one or more opaque regions that are substantially opaque to light from the wavefront. The mask comprises one or more transmissive regions that are transmissive of light from the wavefront. The mask and the array of lenslets are disposed such that light from the wavefront that is transmitted by the transmissive regions is focused by onto the detector array by the array of lenslets. The mask is adapted to be selectably disposed to any one of a plurality of predetermined positions, wherein a different group of lenslets from the array focuses light from the wavefront onto the detector array depending on which of the plurality of predetermined positions is selected.

    摘要: The invention is directed to an arrangement for generating intensive radiation based on a plasma, particularly short-wavelength radiation from soft x-ray radiation to extreme ultraviolet (EUV) radiation. The object of the invention is to find a novel possibility for generating radiation generated from plasma in which the individual pulse energy coupled into the plasma and, therefore, the usable radiation output are appreciably increased while retaining the advantages of mass-limited targets. According to the invention, this object is met in that the target generator has a multiple-channel nozzle with a plurality of separate orifices, wherein the orifices generate a plurality of target jets, the excitation radiation for generating plasma being directed simultaneously portion by portion to the target jets.

    摘要: Output value signals from radiometer or receiver channels are normalized to achieve a flat field response when creating a millimeter wave image. A normalizing factor is applied to the output value signals from each channel, and the normalizing factor accommodates drift in offset of the output value signals on a scan-by-scan basis. The normalizing factor is based on each channel observing a different mean scan brightness temperature from a portion of the scene than the mean brightness temperature of the entire scene. The normalizing factor is obtained by solving a system of simultaneous equations in which normalizing factors from all of the channels are related to one another, preferably by a consistency condition where the mean scan temperature of each channel is equal to an average of the intensities of those image pixels to which the output value signals from that channel contributes.

Electric circuits including a driver circuit for driving a photoelectric conversion portion and a signal processing circuit for processing signals from the photoelectric conversion portion are each placed on the front side of a single crystal silicon substrate at a given distance in the horizontal direction from an opening. Influence of stray light is thus eliminated. The semiconductor substrate has high refractive index, thereby essentially allowing little lowering of spatial resolution. Lowering of spatial resolution is further prevented if the substrate is thinned.

The workpiece support structure also includes a third member fixedly attached to the second rotation member, the third member including a rotatable drive supporting the workpiece. The first rotation member, the second rotation member and the rotatable drive of the third rotation member rotate to move the workpiece along a path of travel for implantation of the implantation surface wherein a distance that the ion beam moves through the implantation chamber before striking the implantation surface of the workpiece is constant.

In one embodiment of the invention, a blackbody emitter is disposed in close proximity to a therapeutic optical fiber to absorb therapeutic radiation at a fault and re-emit blackbody (infrared) radiation. The emitter can be coupled to the fiber but, during normal operation, lies outside the optical path between the output of the laser radiation and the site of treatment. Systems and catheters incorporating such emitters are also described for effective monitoring of the laser power transmitted along the optical fiber within the phototherapy device.
