摘要: Apparatus for drug administration is provided, including an ingestible capsule, which includes a drug, stored by the capsule, and an environmentally-sensitive mechanism, adapted to change a state thereof responsively to a disposition of the capsule within a gastrointestinal (GI) tract of a subject. The capsule further includes first and second electrodes, and a control component, adapted to facilitate passage of the drug, in response to a change of state of the environmentally-sensitive mechanism, through an epithelial layer of the GI tract by driving the first and second electrodes to apply a nulllow intensity time-varyingnull (LITV) signal.

摘要: A body dressing includes a permeating fluid adapted for applying on a skin surface of treating tissues of a user and an ion carrier which is mixed with the permeating fluid containing positively charged ions for depolarizing negative ions accumulated under the skin surface of the treating tissue around sweat glands of the user. The permeating fluid is adapted for permeating into the treating tissues through the skin surface so as to provide an ion passway between the skin surface in contact with the permeating fluid and the treating tissues so as to enhance the depolarization of the positively charged ions of the ion carrier with the negative ions around the treating tissues of the sweat glands of the user.

摘要: According to the present invention, a method for enhancing transdermal transport is disclosed. The method includes the steps of increasing a permeability of an area of a membrane with a permeabilizing device. The membrane may be, inter alia, biologic skin or synthetic skin. The permeabilizing device may be an ultrasound-producing device. A substance is transported into and through the area of the membrane. The substance may be a drug, a vaccine, or a component of interstitial fluid.

摘要: A device and method are provided for spontaneous electrochemical production of therapeutic species, in vivo. An active metal is implanted in the tissue. The metal undergoes corrosion, thus acting as a reducing agent to constituents in the tissue, so as to cause these constituents to form the therapeutic agents.

摘要: Methods, systems, assemblies, computer program products and devices produce hyperpolarized gas by: (a) heating a target gas in an optical pumping cell, the optical pumping cell having opposing top and bottom portions; (b) polarizing the target gas in the optical pumping cell; (c) directing heated polarized gas to flow out of the top portion of the optical pumping cell to a storage reservoir, the storage reservoir having a temperature that is less than the temperature of the heated target gas flowing out of the optical pumping chamber; and (d) flowing previously polarized gas from the reservoir into the optical pumping cell.

摘要: The present invention pertains to improved methods for the destruction of undesirable tissue using photodynamic therapy (PDT) and/or sonodynamic therapy (SDT). Such methods include the use of fractionated dosing of the photosensitizer or sonosensitizer to ensure that the sensitizer can be found in various compartments of the tissue and appropriate vasculature prior to the application of activating energy such as electromagnetic radiation or ultrasonic energy.
