Abstract: Provided is a small-sized controller capable of precisely controlling a flow rate of a high-pressure fluid. Between a working shaft of a drive device and a valve stem, a power transmission device is disposed to amplify a force acting on the working shaft and transmit the resultant force to the valve stem. A diaphragm as a valve element is made of metal and is deformable to: a state where a fluid passage is fully closed; a state where the fluid passage is fully open; or a state where the fluid passage is partially open. When the fluid passage is partially open, on the basis of the flow rate of a fluid flowing through fluid passages, the drive device finely adjusts the position of the working shaft such that the flow rate is constant.

Abstract: A fluidic device controls fluid flow in a channel conduit from a fluid entrance to a fluid exit. In some embodiments, the fluidic device comprises the channel conduit, a flexible element, a cross member, and a gate. The channel conduit is bounded by an inner surface that includes a protrusion. The flexible element is coupled to the inner surface of the channel conduit on a different side of the inner surface as the protrusion. The cross member has a first end that is coupled to a deformable surface that is part of the inner surface of the channel conduit and a second end that is coupled to the flexible element. The gate is configured to deform the deformable surface in accordance with a fluid pressure at the gate. An amount of deformation imparted by the gate controls a position of the flexible element via the cross member.

Abstract: A fluid supply system for providing a turbomachine fluid to a component of a gas turbine engine is disclosed. The fluid supply system includes a fluid container, a moveable barrier, and an airbag. The moveable barrier fluidly divides the fluid container into a first portion and a second portion. The moveable barrier is moveable between a flow-permitting position and a flow-restricting position. The turbomachine fluid experiences a circulating flow between the component and the second portion of fluid container when the moveable barrier is in the flow-permitting position. The circulating flow is at least partially impeded by the moveable barrier when the moveable barrier is in the flow-restricting position. The airbag is positioned within the first portion of the fluid container. The airbag is selectively operable to move the moveable barrier from the flow-permitting position to the flow-restricting position.

Abstract: A fluid flow valve such as a faucet or air-purge valve comprising a housing having defined therein a fluid through-flow aperture with a valve seating formed in the housing and bounding said aperture. A flexible closure membrane is secured at one end to the housing and is adapted to be biased, under fluid pressure in the housing, against the valve seating so as to seal the aperture. Membrane displacing means are secured to an opposite end of the membrane so that displacement of the displacing means in a first sense progessively detaches successive transverse portions of the membrane from the seating so as to open the aperture while displacement of the displacing means in an opposite sense allows for the membrane to become sealingly biased against the seating.

Abstract: A valve comprises rolling diaphragm (7) supported at its outer periphery by an annular support member (8) within which the diaphragm rolls in response to inlet pressure so as to uncover an outlet opening (20) in the support member, thereby to allow the escape of said pressure. Abstract: A vacuum controller for maintaining a defined vacuum pressure to a remote location, including a housing which defines a cavity. The controller includes means for connecting the cavity to the remote location, to a high vacuum, and to a control signal pressure. There is a cup-shaped plunger, having an opening in its side wall, which is adapted to reciprocate in the cavity, and there is a flexible diaphragm which seals between the housing and the plunger. The diaphragm also operates as a valving mechanism, such that, when the plunger moves in one direction, the diaphragm closes off the opening in the side wall of the plunger, and when the plunger moves in the other direction, it opens the opening. There is a check valve in said controller to prevent inversion of the diaphragms.

Abstract: A method and a valve are provided for opening or closing fluid flow through an annular conduit by the utilization of a flexible diaphragm. Such diaphragm is preferably of annular configuration and has an annular U-shaped portion disposed in the annular fluid conduit. The outer portions of the diaphragm are secured to the outer member defining the annular fluid conduit and the inner portions of the flexible diaphragm are secured to the inner member defining the annular conduit. The annular U-shaped portion contains at least one aperture which is rolled into and out of sealing engagement with either the inner or outer wall of the annular fluid conduit by limited axial movement of one wall relative to the other.
