Disclosed herein is a process for making a shoe using a stand-alone mouldable nonwoven fabric which has the ability of self-sustaining and shape maintenance and which is heated to become softened till molten. In the process of the invention, the shoe parts are moulded by a compression moulding process and the moulded parts are then heated and welded together by a plastic welding method.

The invention provides a soundproofing material having excellent heat resistance, and, as a felt that is moldable into a soundproofing material at a low temperature, a felt which contains 10 mass % to 90 mass % of an unstretched thermoplastic resin fiber, and has a thickness of 0.05 mm to 100 mm, and an areal weight of 50 g/m2 to 2 kg/m2.

Disclosed is a hybrid porous carbon fiber and a method for fabrication thereof. Such fabricated porous carbon fibers contain a great amount of mesopores as a porous structure readily penetrable by electrolyte. Accordingly, the hybrid porous carbon fibers of the present disclosure are suitable for manufacturing electrodes with high electric capacity.

A protective armor product comprised of a panel which defines the interior and perimeter profile of the protective armor product. The panel is comprised of a stiff fibrous boardstock material with one or more layers of fibrous felted material of densified needlepunched construction. The fibrous felted material is comprised of a plurality of entangled polymeric fibers where at least a portion of the entangled polymeric fibers are melt fused together such that a plurality of fiber to fiber fusion bonding points are distributed within the fibrous felted material. The stiff fibrous boardstock material is formed into the panels to make the protective armor product.

A portable and stowable quilting wall has generally rectangular body composed of a smooth backing sheet sewn peripherally to a mating front sheet of heavy nap felt. A top hem mounts spaced pieces of hook fasteners interspersed with holes. A bottom hem confines a heavy rod, while the backing sheet mounts strips of loop fasteners that are spaced to engage the hook fasteners when the wall is rolled up on itself to retain the quilting wall in a rolled-up condition for easy movement and storage. The felt nap releasably engages pieces of quilt pieces placed and retains them in both rolled-up and unrolled conditions, without the use of added adhesive or mechanical fasteners. The holes in the top hem receive hooks to hang the unrolled sheet against a wall or door, while the rod maintains the quilting wall flat against a vertical surface.

An anti insect screening is made from composite based and thermosetting fibers or yarns that are constructed into a screen fabric wherein the yarns cross each other. The fabric with the yarns therein is heat set whereby the crossing yarns will adhere to each other. The thus obtained fabric is coated by a fluoropolymer based film. The anti insect screening is stretchable but will revert to its original state through the phenomenon of plastic memory. The anti insect screening is chemically inert and solvent resistant to substantially all chemicals. Its mechanical toughness demonstrates superior anti-stick and low frictional properties.

The graphitized composite article of the present invention is formed by embedding carbon fiber felt in a matrix of a carbon filler; a thermosetting resin and a solvent; curing the composite article; then, carbonizing and graphitizing the cured composite article to form the graphitized composite article for use as a separator plate capable of substantially inhibiting mixing of hydrogen and oxygen and/or the loss of electrolyte within a fuel cell stack. The graphitized composite article may be a graphitized laminate.

A stitch bonded fabric sheet (10) has a felt web (12) with hydrophobic layer (14) and a hydrophilic layer (16) stitch bonded with yarns (18) to create yarn faces (24 and 26) over the respective outer surfaces (20 and 22) of the felt web (12). Sheet (10) may be used as a fluid-retention fabric such as to replace the facing fabric and felt layer in an incontinent pad.
