At least one of these feet—foot (8)—has a length (L′) substantially corresponding to the length (L)—or width (B)—of the pallet. This foot (8) contains at least two inner comparatively wide support parts (13, 14, 15), arranged in series and projecting from the bottom part (16) of the foot (8). In this way, according to fire tests—where several identical pallets (1) filled with goods were stacked on top of each other—each pallet (1) has a unique ability to extinguish flames generated in goods on the pallet located directly below the pallet in question, and moreover, the pallet also shows considerable dimensional stability. This makes the pallet (1) particularly suitable for transport on transport means, optionally roller conveyors which cause many bumps.

摘要： An apparatus is disclosed for manufacturing corrugated pallets from a base panel of corrugated material, a top panel of corrugated material and a plurality of spacers blocks. Each of the spacer blocks is bonded to the base sheet and top sheet. The apparatus comprises a loading station for receiving the base panel and top panel, and a glue applicator for extruding a plurality of continuous sheets of glue to predetermined areas of the base panel and top panel. An assembly station includes a locating system for receiving and locating the base panels, spacer blocks and top panel in relation to the base panel when the top panel is placed upon a plurality of spacer blocks to form the corrugated pallet. A transfer compression station for applying a continuous initial pressure to the corrugated pallet at the base and top panels of the corrugated pallet while simultaneously transferring the corrugated pallet in a horizontal direction. A final compression station for applying a final glue setting pressure to the corrugated pallet. A conveyor for transferring the base and top panels from the loading station through the glue applicator. The conveyor also transfers the base and top panels from the glue applicator to the assembly station. The compression conveyor transfers the corrugated pallet from the assembly station to the final compression station.

In another form, two stiffening members are provided, each extending along a respective border portion of the hollow molding parallel to the other stiffening member. The invention is also concerned with a method for molding large hollow bodies by means of a fast setting resin which is premixed just before it is introduced into a mold.

摘要： An article having non-planar portions, such as a pallet having a substantially flat deck member and a plurality of hollow leg members projecting integrally from the deck member, is molded as a one-piece unit from a loosely-felted, layered mat formed from a mixture of a resinous particle board binder and flake-like wood particles. The wood flakes have an average length of about 11/4 to about 6 inches, preferably about 2 to about 3 inches, an average thickness of about 0.005 to about 0.075 inch, preferably about 0.015 to about 0.025 inch, and an average width of 3 inches or less and no greater than the average length. Each layer of wood flakes in the mat lie substantially flat on a plane generally parallel to the major plane thereof and are randomly oriented to each other. The mat is placed between the male and female dies of a mold or press and compressed therein to substantially the desired shape under temperature and pressure conditions sufficient to bond the flakes together.

The main body (12) and bottom accessory (14) are each configured to allow them to be nested, when not attached to each other. The processes of the invention include using the main body (12) to transport goods from manufacturers and then attaching the bottom accessory (14) to the main body (12) to form a pallet (10) for use in a pallet pool. The pallet system includes a variety of attachments that can be attached to the main body (12) and/or the accessory (14) and can be removed, as necessary.
