In some embodiments, the farm includes a seeding station, an irrigation and growing station, and a harvesting and packaging station. In some embodiments, the farm is arranged to grow crops via to a hybrid aeroponic and hydroponic irrigation system. In some embodiments, the crops are grown in a container having a hydroponic irrigation zone and an aeroponic irrigation zone.

Abstract: A flower funnel device is provided. The device is comprised of a funnel body, a ribbon, and a stand. The funnel body is placed inside of the stand during floral arrangement and securely holds in place the flowers in use. The stand is placed on a flat surface, permitting hands-free flower manipulation. Upon completion of the arrangement, a ribbon that has been pre-placed inside of the stand is used to tie a knot around the stems of the flowers, allowing for the safe removal of the bouquet.

Abstract: Methods and an assembly apparatus are described for operating a node-enabled logistics receptacle in a wireless node network having at least a first node related to an item being shipped. The method generally begins with the node-enabled logistics receptacle detecting a signal broadcast by the first node, such as when a package having the first node approaches the receptacle. The method then associates the node-enabled logistics receptacle with the first node. The method continues with the node-enabled logistics receptacle determining a location of the first node, and then altering a current inventory of nodes related to the node-enabled logistics receptacle based upon the location of the first node, such as when the first node is within a vicinity of the receptacle that is an area sufficiently proximate to the node-enabled logistics receptacle to indicate an item and node within the vicinity intends to be shipped.

Abstract: An assembly for the production of conical paper sleeves for floral groupings comprises a system configured to continuously feed sheets of paper stock along an elongated surface of a folding table, wherein a first fold and a second fold are applied to a single sheet of paper stock with an amount of adhesive disposed there between using an assembly of belts, rollers, electrical motors, sensors, and fold guides, all of which may be electronically monitored and controlled by a processor disposed in connection with an operator console. Alternatively, the production of conical paper sleeves may instead comprise a semi-automated assembly configured to allow for the movement of an adhesive applicator along a predetermined route while an operator thereof manually applies a first fold and second fold to a single sheet of paper stock. Such predetermined route may be fully configurable and customizable by an operator of such semi-automated assembly.

Abstract: Disclosed are a system and method for packaging seaweed and/or aquatic plants. The system includes a wrapping mechanism configured to wrap the seaweed or aquatic plants in a lightweight material, a sealer configured to seal the lightweight material with the seaweed or aquatic plants therein, and a unitizer or link former configured to form fastened units from the lightweight material with the seaweed or aquatic plants therein. The method includes placing or depositing the seaweed or the aquatic plant(s) on a sheet of a lightweight material, wrapping the seaweed or the aquatic plant(s) in the lightweight material, and sealing the lightweight material to form a packaged unit or link in which the seaweed or aquatic plant(s) is sealed or otherwise contained in the lightweight material.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for multi-entity management of an ID node in a wireless node network. The ID node associates with a first entity user access device, which operates as a master node and communicates directly with a server over a first communication path. The first device separately communicates with the ID node over a second communication path, but the ID node is unable to directly communicate with the server. The ID node provides the first device with access to data collected by the ID node if an initial privilege authorizes it. After associating with a shipping entity master node, the ID node provides the shipping entity master node with the data collected based on a transferred privilege from the server. And then after associating with a second entity user access device, the ID node provides access to this second device if authorized by a destination privilege from the server.

Abstract: A sterile packaged plant delivery system includes a container having an opening, an amount of growth medium, a plant, and cover. The amount of growth medium is disposed within an interior of the container and part of the plant is disposed within the growth medium. The cover seals the interior of the container thereby maintaining the plant within a sterile growth environment. In one example, the cover is a thin film seal. A user obtains the system, punctures the film seal, removes the plant from the interior of the container, and plants the plant in a growth environment outside of the container. The system provides a low-cost technique for delivering live plants to end consumers without fungus or bacteria as in typical soil growth and without having to apply costly antimicrobial agent. This eliminates the need for watering and maintenance of any kind while the plant remains in the container.

Abstract: A bale bagging apparatus and method are provided. The bale bagging apparatus includes a bale feeding station, a bale chute, a bale bagging station, and a transportation system that transports a bale to be bagged from the bale feeding station through the bale chute and into the bale bagging station. The bale bagging station includes a bag receptacle, a first opening, and a bag retrieval assembly. The bag receptacle is positioned on a side opposite of the first opening from the side of the first opening on which the bale to be bagged is to be transported. The bag retrieval assembly retrieves a bag from the bag receptacle through the first opening. The bag retrieval assembly positions a first end of said bag around at least a portion of the bale chute before the bale to be bagged is transported through the bale chute by the transportation system.
