Abstract: A scooter includes a frame which has a footboard and supports a rear wheel, a steering column provided with a front wheel pivotably mounted on the frame, and a motor provided with a drive shaft coupled to the rear wheel via a transmission system. The transmission system includes a rear transverse shaft having a first end portion and a second end portion rotatably coupled to the rear wheel; —a gear system having a sprocket coupled rotatably to the first end portion and in meshing engagement with a toothed gear rotatably coupled to the drive shaft; and—a rear structure attached to the frame, supporting the gear system and the rear transverse shaft, and extending laterally along one side only—right or left—of the rear wheel, such that the second end portion extends from the rear structure to support the rear wheel in a cantilevered fashion.

Abstract: A vehicle wheel axle assembly including: an axle extending along an axial axis having a first end and a second end axially opposed to the first end; a hub shell rotatable about the axle and about the axial axis; a frame element having a dropout for connection with the axle. The axle is a cantilevered axle with a first end removably connected to the dropout. The first end includes an axially outwardly facing first end face. The dropout includes an axially inward facing inboard face and an open slot to receive the axle adjacent the first end, with the open slot including an open entrance portion, a closed terminus region, slot sidewalls extending between the entrance portion and the terminus region. The axle is generally radially inwardly assembled to the open slot through the open entrance.

Abstract: A bicycle comprises a main frame and a suspension assembly coupled to the main frame. The suspension assembly includes a dynamic crank support and a spring mechanism. The dynamic crank support is movable from an uncompressed position to a compressed position. The spring mechanism biases the dynamic crank support toward the uncompressed position. The suspension assembly further comprises a dynamic seat support coupled for movement with the dynamic crank support. For example, the dynamic seat support and the dynamic crank support can be rigidly coupled to each other and cooperatively form one bar of a four-bar linkage. An eccentric assembly is supported by the main frame and rotates about a first axis. The eccentric assembly pivotally supports the dynamic crank support for rotation about a second axis offset from the first axis. The spring mechanism preferably comprises a spring secured between the main frame and the eccentric assembly to rotationally bias the eccentric assembly.

Abstract: A rear wheel suspension adjusting arrangement for use in a vehicle includes a configuration adjusting arrangement and an activating arrangement. The vehicle includes a frame having a front and a back, a suspended rear drive wheel that supports the frame, and a suspension system for connecting the rear drive wheel to the frame. The configuration adjusting arrangement is capable of changing the positioning of the suspension system relative to the frame such that the suspension system may be moved into an uphill configuration when the vehicle is traveling uphill and such that the suspension system may be moved into a downhill configuration when the vehicle is traveling downhill. The activating arrangement activates the changing of the configuration adjusting arrangement to cause the configuration adjusting arrangement to change the positioning of the suspension system relative to the frame while the vehicle is being used.
