    摘要: Method of manufacturing thin film electroluminescent devices composed of a compound of zinc and sulphur, activated by a first metal activator consisting of copper and activated by a second metal consisting of copper manganese, excitable by direct and pulsed voltage. This method includes the steps of placing a substrate in an evacuated bell jar at the top portion thereof; placing in said bell jar first, second, third and fourth ovens respectively containing, in the form of elementary bodies, zinc, sulphur, the activator metal of copper and the activator metal of manganese, these ovens having apertures at the top portion thereof directed towards the substrate, for passage of the evapored elementary bodies; heating the substrate at a predetermined deposition temperature; simultaneously heating during a common period the ovens at respective first, second, third and fourth predetermined temperatures for causing the elementary bodies contained therein to be evaporated and deposited together on said substrate; heating the substrate at a predetermined recrystallization temperature and heating during an additional period the oven containing the element of group VI B alone at the recrystallization predetermined temperature.

    摘要: A method is disclosed for producing intricate metal designs bonded to glass such as required in electrical resistance heating circuits, microwave oven panel shields and the like. The method includes the application to a sheet of glass of the negative of the desired design by silk screening or other screening techniques utilizing a screenable pasting agent which screens through the negative pattern and adheres temporarily to the glass. The entire sheet of glass is then coated with the desired metal, usually aluminum, according to known metallizing techniques in which flame-atomized metal is applied to the heated glass sheet and thus bonds thereto. The metallized surface is then brushed with wire rotary brushes which remove the metal from those areas where the screenable pasting agent has been applied. After washing, further wet brushing, rinsing and drying, the positive desired design in metal remains securely bonded to the glass.

    摘要: Methods of making charge-coupled devices are disclosed, which include deposition of a thin, highly insulating coating of an oxide or nitride of a metal or semi-metal on a patterned first metal electrode layer. The insulating layer is plasma deposited, and a second metal electrode layer is then deposited and patterned. In the illustrated embodiment, the first metal layer is patterned in the same reactor in which the insulating coating is applied, eliminating handling of the device immediately prior to the critical step of deposition of the thin insulating coating.

    摘要: In a method for making a monolithic ceramic capacitor, electroding paste is applied to plates of green ceramic. The paste contains palladium or silver or alloys or mixtures thereof and a substantial quantity of ceramic particles. The plates are stacked and the stack is immersed in a zirconia sand containing silver, and is fired at a temperature that sinters the ceramic material and melts the electroding metal. When the electroding metal is palladium, the surrounding silver vapor at firing diffuses into the metal forming a silver alloy therewith. The electroding metal may be silver or mixtures or alloys containing silver. In all cases the silver vapor atmosphere prevents substantial escape of silver from the electrodes.

    摘要: A discharge recording blank comprises a paper backing having a conductive surface formed by a base coating of conductive powdered carbon, and an outer powdered coating formed on the conductive surface. The outer powdered coating consists of nonconductive finely divided powder such as resin powder and/or pigment powder which is selected from white, gray or colored organic or inorganic pigment. The outer powdered coating is removed in localized areas in response to applied electric signals so as to expose the paper surface. Images recorded on the blank can also be transferred to another usual paper.
