摘要: A method and apparatus for production of smooth or corrugated small and large diameter thermoplastic tubing and composite tubular structures. The apparatus includes a supporting framework, a plurality of mold carriages mounted on said framework for reciprocal linear travel therealong, at least one mold block mounted on each of said mold carriages, each said mold block comprising a pair of opposed semi-cylindrical segments mounted on a carriage for transverse linear reciprocal travel therealong for closing and opening of said mold block, an actuating mechanism for moving said opposed mold segments towards and away from each other, and a single actuating mechanism for selectively moving said carriages.

摘要: The present invention is directed to the manufacture of plastic tubing exemplified by corrugated plastic tile and parts related thereto, in which molds for shaping an extrudable plastic material are caused to shuttle linearly forwardly and rearwardly with respect to an extruding source of said plastic material. Sequentially related to linear mold movement is opening and closing mold action, which is correlated to the discharge of plastic material from the extruding source thereof. Provision is also made herein during the course of linear mold movement for parking one or more predetermined molds at a location spaced from the extruding source.

摘要: A corrugated mold block for a vacuum mold machine is provided with a face arcuate about a longitudinal axis and corrugated in the longitudinal direction with alternating grooves and lands, said face being formed of sheet metal. A housing is provided about the back of the face and adapted for carriage about an endless path, and reinforcing members are provided which are secured to the face and housing and extend therebetween to maintain the desired shape of the face. Openings extend through the grooves of the face to the back thereof and communicate with vacuum passageways formed by a plurality of arcuate channel members secured to the back of each of the face grooves and communicating with a vacuum port through the housing. The housing further defines a cooling passage therethrough in communication with input and output cooling ports through the housing. The reinforcing members are disposed substantially radial to the arc of the face and include finger portions extending into the lands thereof and openings therethrough which form a part of the cooling passage. A sealant is provided on one side of the mold block and adapted to seal against an adjacent mold block during molding.

摘要: What is described is a blow-molding machine for plastic containers, comprising a plurality of platens for supporting blow mold halves, wherein at least two of the platens are in the form of movable multi-carriers for simultaneously supporting at least two blow mold halves which are assigned to different blow-molding cavities. Since the multi-carriers are driven in such a manner that at least one of the blow-molding cavities can be opened and at the same time at least one other of the blow-molding cavities can be closed by means of a continuous movement of the multi-carriers, acceleration and deceleration ramps can be reduced upon opening and closing and it is possible to gain process time for the blow molding.

摘要: Successive increments of a thermoplastic tube are extruded in vertical direction from an orifice, and a first partible mold is closed about the increment immediately downstream of the orifice whereupon the increment is expanded to the shape of a first semi-finished container, while simultaneously completing the expansion of the neck region of an already filled second semi-finished container accommodated in a second partible mold downstream of the first mold and communicating with the interior of the first container, is completed. The containers are then sealed and separated from one another and the first container in the first mold is filled. The second container is discharged from the second mold and the relative positions of the molds are reversed in preparation for repetition of the preceding steps.
