Abstract: The invention is directed to a process to manufacture an interconnected stack of thermoplastic frames having two sides by stacking the thermoplastic frames to obtain a stack of frames such that the facing sides of two neighbouring frames are in contact with each other at a contact area. When stacking a longitudinal conduit is formed which runs along the length of the stack and a branched conduit is formed at the contact area. The interconnected stack of thermoplastic frames are obtained by supplying a pressurised melt of a plastic material to the elongated conduit and branched conduits.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for producing a spacer having a casting mold with at least one filling opening, a valve seat, which is connected to the casting mold, wherein the valve seat has an regionally closed head side with at least one first feed-through, a valve body which is mounted so as to be rotatable relative to the valve seat and which has a sealing face, wherein at least one second feed-through is arranged in the sealing face, wherein the valve seat and the valve body together form a valve, wherein the valve is reversibly transferable into an open position and a closed position by rotation of the valve body relative to the valve seat, wherein, in the open position of the valve, the at least one first feed-through of the valve seat and the at least one second feed-through of the valve body are located above one another at least in places and provide a permeable connection through the valve into the casting mold, wherein, in the closed position of the valve, the at least one first feed-through of the valve seat is covered by the sealing face of the valve body, wherein, in the closed position of the valve, the at least one filling opening of the casting mold is covered and wherein the valve is connected on the side remote from the casting mold to a port for liquid-tight connection of a bone cement cartridge or the valve has such a port. The invention also relates to a method for producing spacers using such a device.

Abstract: It is described a method and an apparatus for injection co-mould and assemble plastic material objects having a first part provided with a hinge pin, and a second part provided with an annular element suitable to be coupled in an articulated manner. The apparatus includes a mould having separated moulding impressions for the two parts to be moulded; a first moulding pin element defining the pin impression and a second moulding pin element defining the annular element impression are provided. The apparatus includes cooling means; particularly the first pin element is internally provided with a channel and a tubular element, being coaxially arranged and defining a cooling gap. A cooling fluid flows through the tubular element and the gap. Cams are provided which axially move the pin elements to cause the automatic assembly of the object during the mould opening and then to allow extracting the moulded object.

Abstract: In order to achieve lower costs in a molding apparatus using a mold by reducing mold cleaning steps following releasing of the product from the mold and shortening the molding cycle, the apparatus is equipped with a plurality of fixed molds and movable molds which are heated to the temperature necessary to harden a molding material and come together by means of clamping to form a cavity, and a non-heated cold runner which supplies the molding material from an injection device to the interior of the cavity via a gate opened in the movable mold, the fixed molds and movable molds being movable between an injection stage where the injection device and cold runner (32) are present and an opening stage near the injection stage.
