摘要: A single cell for a fuel cell includes a power generating unit and two separators that hold the power generating unit in between. Each separator includes a facing surface, which faces the power generating unit. Each facing surface includes groove passages and ribs. Each of the ribs includes a top wall portion, two side wall portions, and corner portions. The top wall portion is in contact with the power generating unit. The side wall portions are located at the opposite sides of the top wall portion. Each corner portion is located between the top wall portion and one of the side wall portions. A restricting portion is provided at a section of each corner portion that faces the groove passage. The restricting portion restricts the gas diffusion layer from sinking into the groove passage. The restricting portion is a conductive porous body.

摘要: In a fuel cell system, a first rubber seal is interposed between a top part of a first seal bead portion that is formed to protrude toward a first separator main body, and a membrane electrode assembly member. A method of low temperature starting of the fuel cell system includes: a warm-up step of warming up a fuel cell stack by introducing an oxygen containing gas discharged from a compressor, into a case interior space in a state in which a temperature of the oxygen containing gas is raised by causing the oxygen containing gas to flow through a pressure loss member; and an electrical power generating step of initiating generation of electrical power after completion of the warm-up step.

摘要: A fuel cell that can have a voltage-detection cell connector reliably held thereon without the thickness of the fuel cell increased to a thickness of greater than that originally required to generate power. The fuel cell includes a recess portion in which a cell connector is adapted to be inserted. In the recess portion, a guide portion, which can guide a cell connector being inserted into the recess portion, is formed of a part of a separator (or a second extending portion thereof). In a portion of the recess portion opposite the second extending portion, a protrusion that forms a part of an insulating resin sheet, which is arranged between a pair of separators, protrudes toward the second extending portion. A to-be-crimped portion of the cell connector inserted in the recess portion is pressed against the second extending portion by the protrusion so that its stable posture is held.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a fuel cell including a membrane electrode assembly and a resin frame includes, in a membrane electrode assembly sheet that is used for acquiring the membrane electrode assembly, and in which a porous layer including at least a catalytic electrode layer is disposed on at least one surface of an electrolyte membrane, applying a sealing agent onto the porous layer in a region including a part forming an outer periphery of the membrane electrode assembly to seal a pore of the porous layer; acquiring a stack member including the membrane electrode assembly by cutting the membrane electrode assembly sheet in the region; and bonding the resin frame to a part of the porous layer in the stack member where the sealing agent is applied, using an adhesive.

摘要: A method is for producing seals on faces of electrochemical reactor components intended to be stacked in order to form an electrochemical reactor Each component is in the form of a plate and having a first face and an opposing second face. The first face is designed to receive a first seal and the second face is designed to receive a second seal. The method includes shaping the first seals on the first faces of the components, the first seals being at least partially polymerized; depositing the second seals on the second face of the components; and shaping the second seals by compressing a stack formed from the components alternating with molding plates. Each molding plate has a bearing face pressed against the first face of a component and includes a groove designed to receive, without deforming, the first seal previously formed on the first face of said component, and a molding face pressed against the second face of another component and having a molding surface for shaping the second seal deposited on the second face of said other component as a result of compressing the stack. The method also includes at least partially polymerizing the second seals.

A U-shaped elastic member is provided between cells adjacent to each other and between the outer-side wall portion of the cell located above and the inner-side wall portion of the cell located beneath. Glass seals are provided between the elastic member and the outer-side wall portion and the inner-side wall portion, respectively.

摘要: According to an example embodiment, a method of making a fuel cell component includes permeating at least a portion of a component layer with a polymer. The portion of the component layer is adjacent an edge of the component layer. Some of the polymer is allowed to extend beyond the edge to thereby establish a flap beyond the edge of the component layer. A fuel cell component includes a component layer having a portion adjacent an edge of the layer that is impregnated with a polymer material and a flap of the polymer material extending beyond the edge.

摘要: A fuel cell stack includes bonding members for joining projecting sections of adjacent frames in cell modules, an inter-cell module seal member forming a seal between the cell modules, and supporting members disposed between adjacent frames in the cell modules. As viewed from above in the direction in which the cell modules are layered, the supporting members overlap at least a part of a section of the inter-cell module seal member that contacts the cell modules.
