摘要： A contoured rake face cutting tool and method of making is disclosed. A rotary cutting tool with a plurality of teeth can cause damage to a work piece during cutting. By orienting the cutting angle of the teeth relative to the rotational central axis to high shear angle such as 50 or 70 degrees, the tool creates a high compression cut which is cleaner and less damaging to the work piece. The cutting surface itself is profiled, i.e. non-planar, such as concave or convex or other non planar shape, which is preferably formed into an ultra-hard material which is supplied for use in a planar form.

摘要： A stump grinding wheel assembly having a disk-like wheel body. A plurality of bilateral mounting stations integral with the wheel body and arranged into spiral cluster groups. Each spiral cluster having an inner mounting station and at least one middle mounting station and an outer mounting station. The inner mounting stations are thicker than the middle mounting stations, which are thicker than the outer mounting stations. A pair of opposing side-cutters are disposed on each left and right side of the mounting stations. A separate plunge-cutter may be included with each spiral cluster. The bilateral mounting stations produce conically-helical cutting paths using identical side-cutters. The unequal width of the inner and middle and outer mounting stations enables better management of cutting forces in side cutting mode, which produces smoother operation.

摘要： A cutting tool for woodworking applications has a tungsten carbide substrate and a hard layer bonded to the substrate at high temperature and high pressure, i.e. where diamond or cubic boron nitride is thermodynamically stable. The hard layer comprises polycrystalline diamond or polycrystalline cubic boron nitride, and a supporting cobalt phase including adjuvant alloying materials for providing oxidation and corrosion resistance. Typical alloying elements include nickel, aluminum, silicon, titanium, molybdenum and chromium. Such materials also retard transformation of cobalt from the HCP to the FCC crystal structure at high temperature. The hard layer has an as-pressed surface parallel to the substrate and is only about 0.3 millimeters thick. An additional secondary phase including a carbide, nitride and carbonitride of metals such as titanium may also be present in the PCD or PCBN layer.

摘要： The invention relates to a machine for surface and thickness working of wood workpieces of any dimensions, in particular short and thin workpieces without rigid clamping of the workpiece, consisting of a machine housing, a movable working table, a two-part baseplate with circular cutout into which a face of a milling head provided with fixed and exchangeable cutting edges is inserted. In the head, there is a guide insert. An upper guide strip is disposed in exactly the same plane as the cutting edge apex on the milling head and also in the same plane as a stationary portion of the baseplate. At least two working spindles, set at predetermined angles, are provided. The workpiece slides on the two-part baseplate guided by two flank guide rails and an upper guide strip forming together a movement channel for the workpiece.
