After the weaving, the base fabric has been treated by a polymer material, which has better electric conductivity than the polymer yarns of the base fabric. The polymer treatment is carried out by means of a polyaniline solution or a polypyrrole solution, for instance. After the polymer treatment, at least the yarns on the surface of the base fabric comprise a coating of an electrically conductive polymer.

    摘要: A simple yet effective method and apparatus produce a web suitable for treatment of water as a static filtration media, e. g. to remove chlorine and lead from water in contact with the media. A web is coated with a coating composition that facilitates treatment of water and includes a binder, and the web is compressed in one dimension about 25-75% (e. g. 40-60%) so as to make the void size distribution substantially more uniform. The compression is substantially maintained until the binder substantially cures so that the coated final web produced has a second void size distribution more uniform than the first void size distribution, e. g. the coated final web having void volumes with a mean value of about 6-7null10null8 liters and/or an RDV/BV ratio of at least 0.4, and a porosity of greater than 90%. Compression may be at least primarily practiced by substantially immediately after coating passing the web through a series of staggered rollers; or by tightly winding the web prior to cure of the binder; or by compressing the web while in a curing tunnel using upper and lower compression belt roller assemblies. Coating may be practiced using a non-woven web having a weight of about 4-7 ounces/sq. ft., and by applying a coating equal to about 100-200% of the uncoated weight of the fabric comprising about 10-20% binder, about 60-90% activated carbon, and about 0-25% zeolite.

The sheetlike web material is upset or gathered transversely to its longitudinal extent in order to form a wavy structure.     摘要: There is provided an air filter element which is used by fitting a central opening in its end plate on a cylindrical portion projecting into a casing, wherein the air filter element has a novel seal construction (end plate). An end plate (10) closing the end surface of a hollow cylindrical filter portion (2) includes a soft inner peripheral seal portion (11) capable of sticking to the outer surface of a cylindrical member (33) and a rigid closure portion (13) which is disposed on the outer periphery side of the inner peripheral seal portion and in which the end surface of the filter portion is embedded, the end plate being of composite construction in which the inner peripheral seal portion (11) and the closure portion (13) are integrally molded. On the outer periphery side of the inner peripheral seal portion (11), a groove (12) axially extending from an end surface (10a) of the end plate is formed along the opening. The inner peripheral seal portion (11) effects reliable center seal with respect to the cylindrical member (33), while the closure portion (13) on the outside thereof improves the rigidity of the air filter element.
