摘要: A screen basket for screening suspensions, containing wearing particles, comprises a circumferential wall of a base material provided with screen passages, and a wear resistant outer layer of a material, typically chromium, which is harder than the base material and covers the circumferential wall. At least one wear-indicating layer is applied on the circumferential wall between the latter and the outer layer and adapted to indicate when at least a portion of the outer layer has been worn down to the wear-indicating layer.

摘要: A filtration material comprising a blend of at least two types of fibers: (a) polypropylene fibers and (b) either acrylic or modacrylic fibers. In a preferred embodiment, the blend contains about 50 weight percent polypropylene fibers and about 50 weight percent modacrylic fibers. In another preferred embodiment, the blend contains about 50 weight percent polypropylene fibers and about 50 weight percent acrylic fibers. The fibers can be blended ranging from 90:10 to 10:90 polypropylene to acrylic or modacrylic. Performance of the blend is superior to the prior art filtration materials, especially at the preferred compositions.

摘要: A process for separating an aqueous emulsion including an aqueous phase and an non-aqueous phase into separated aqueous and non-aqueous phases, to provide a recovered non-aqueous phase, and to provide a recovered aqueous phase containing an acceptable level of the non-aqueous phase. In the process, at least one body, and preferably two or more bodies, of polymeric material with a high surface area, typically a foam material or polymer chips, is used in a horizontal flow treatment system to break the emulsion and thus provide both the aqueous and non-aqueous phases as two separate flows. A wide range of polymers can be used in the system as the polymeric material including polyurethane, polypropylene, polystyrene, polyester, and polyethylene. If a very low level of non-aqueous phase in the effluent is required, for example to meet potable water standards, then a Kozlowski polyurethane, as described in U.S. Pat. No. 5,239,040, is preferred as the last polymeric material body.

摘要: A water treatment apparatus includes a housing comprising multiple housing portions and a plurality of treatment sections disposed within the housing, each treatment section comprising at least one distinct particulate layer. The apparatus is designed so that no water pressure need be applied to force the water through the apparatus, as gravity pulls the water down through the filtering layers. Water may also be force fed through the treatment apparatus; when the water is force fed, the housing portions need not be vertically stacked, but may be configured in any suitable arrangement. The treatment sections are distributed through the various housing portions in logical groups to perform various kinds of filtering. The housing portions are detachable and sealably stackable in multiple configurations, thus passing water through more or fewer treatment layers, depending on the quality of the incoming water.

摘要: An extracorpeal blood circuit for removal of contrast from human blood using a filter and withdrawal filter pump and a by-pass pump. The withdrawal filter blood pump operates when a contrast bolus has been detected. Otherwise the bypass blood pump maintains physiological blood flow from the coronary sinus preventing the need for deflation and re-inflation of the balloon catheter. When contrast is detected blood the bypass blood pump is stopped to prevent contrast from leaking back into the patients circulatory system via the bypass pump and CS blood flow is maintained at its physiological blood flow resulting in the heart being oblivious to the transition by the prefilter blood pump.

摘要: The combination of a supported UF membrane having low non-specific binding (NSB) and high protein retention of the tested chemical entity (CE) in a device that is SBS complaint. The membrane is heat sealed to form one or more integral wells that are used to reduce NSB and improve protein retention and provides a simple, flexible way to reduce CE, such as drug and drug candidate (and other small molecule) NSB so that drug binding studies may more closely predict the behavior of these compounds in vivo.

摘要: The present invention relates to the raw water-filtering technical field, and is to provide a high speed filtering apparatus which can filter a great amount of raw water containing suspended substances (SS) at a high concentration at a high speed. Floating filter media 2, which are composed of a foamed polymer having an apparent density of 0.1 to 0.4 g/cm3 and a 50% compression hardness of not less than 0.1 MPa and have uneven shapes or cylindrical shapes with sizes of 4 to 10 mm, are charged into an up-flow type filtering tower 1. The raw water containing SS at a high concentration is filtered by passing it through the filtering tower 1 at a linear water-passing speed of 100 to 1000 m/day. While the floating filter media 2 are not compacted, a high SS-capturing percentage can be obtained. Back washing can be also effected at a high linear washing speed of 1.2 to 4.0 m/min.

摘要: Large diameter nodes integrally formed on a linear fiber at an appropriate interval to form a fiber body, so that multiple fiber bodies are attached to a support member in a state where slits are formed between adjoining fibers due to the large diameter nodes by arranging multiple fiber bodies in parallel with one another or laminating the multiple fiber bodies with one another. It is preferable that a thickness of the fiber of the fiber body is set to range from 0.003 to 0.05 mm, and an outer diameter of each large diameter node is set to be 1.03 to 1.50 times as large as the thickness of the fiber, and an interval of the large diameter nodes is set to be 5 to 100 times as large as the thickness of the fiber. With such a construction, it is possible to obtain the filtrating filter which is simple in construction and manufactured with ease, particularly capable of easily forming slits to have an arbitrary size through which liquid or gas to be suitably filtrated.

摘要: A fluid filter includes a housing having an inlet, an outlet, and a center section. A filter element is disposed within the housing. The filter includes a portion made from a polyketone-containing material. The polyketone-containing portion may be the filter housing, the filter element, or both. Where the filter element is formed from a polyketone-containing material, it may be a porous block, a multiplicity of polyketone-containing beads, or a porous polyketone membrane.
