The present disclosure provides a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) composition for preventing and treating diabetes, a TCM preparation and use thereof, and belongs to the technical field of medicine. The TCM composition includes the following raw materials: 3-20 parts by weight of Rhizoma Coptidis, 9-24 parts by weight of Rhizoma Atractylodis, 6-24 parts by weight of Feculae Bombycis, 10-60 parts by weight of Stigma Maydis, 10-60 parts by weight of Radix Trichosanthis, 6-30 parts by weight of Radix Scrophulariae, 10-60 parts by weight of Radix et Rhizoma Salviae Miltiorrhizae, and 10-50 parts by weight of Fructus Crataegi Preparata. In the TCM composition provided by the present disclosure, all medicinal materials are synergistic to achieve the effects of clearing heat, drying dampness, fortifying the spleen, dispersing blood stasis, dispersing accumulations, lowering lipids, nourishing yin and moistening dryness.

The traditional Chinese medicine composition consists of the following raw materials in the following weight ratio: 5-80% of Coptidis Rhizoma, 5-70% of Aurantii Fructus Immaturus, 0-60% of Pinelliae Rhizoma, 0-40% of Trichosanthis Fructus, 0-12% of Cinnamomi Cortex, and 10-60% of red yeast rice. The traditional Chinese medicine extract composition consists of the following raw materials in the following weight ratio: 2-30% of Coptidis Rhizoma extract, and 70-98% of a mixed extract from five traditional Chinese medicines comprising Aurantii Fructus Immaturus, Pinelliae Rhizoma, red yeast rice, Trichosanthis Fructus, and Cinnamomi Cortex. The traditional Chinese medicine composition or the traditional Chinese medicine extract composition contains the following active ingredients (mg/g): 6-122 mg/g of total alkaloids, which comprises 4-89 mg/g of berberine, 30-315 mg/g of total flavonoids, which comprises 20-186 mg/g of neohesperidin: and 0.5-9 mg/g of lovastatin. The present invention relates to an extract of a processed herbal medicinal plant and a composition for skin external application which contains the extract. More specifically, the composition for skin external application contains an extract of processed herbal medicinal plant, prepared through a method comprising the steps of: (a) processing an herbal medicinal plant by a process of boiling, steaming, roasting, baking or heating the medicinal plant or a combination of two or more of these processes; (b) obtaining an extract of the processed medicinal plant.
