A traditional Chinese medicine composition, and preparation method, and application thereof. The traditional Chinese medicine composition includes the following raw medicines in parts by weight: 10-35 parts of root of Chinese thorowax, 5-25 parts of immature bitter orange, 3-20 parts of fresh root and rhizome of sorrel rhubarb, 3-20 parts of root of baikal skullcap, 3-20 parts of white peony root, 3-15 parts of dried ginger, 5-20 parts of leech, 3-20 parts of root of ural licorice, 3-20 parts of root pilose asiabell, 3-20 parts of rhizome of largehead atractylodes, and 3-25 parts of tuber of pinellia. The traditional Chinese medicine composition has excellent effects in lowering blood lipids and cholesterol levels, particularly in lowering blood triglyceride. The traditional Chinese medicine composition also has excellent effects in slowing formation of atherosclerotic plaques, clearing the atherosclerotic plaques, and preventing and treating atherosclerosis.

The invention relates to a method for production of a preparation from a vegetable material, said preparation being enriched in a polysaccharide with a backbone comprising rhamnogalacturonan-I cores, said methodcomprising the steps: mixing the vegetable material with a polar alcoholic solvent; and separating a solid residue obtained in step a) from the solvent; and mixing the solid residue obtained in step b) with a buffered aqueous solution having a pH between 7 and 8. Also provided is a preparation containing rhamnogalacturonan-I pectins that can be obtained by this method and the use of such a preparation to modulate immune response.

The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition made from the following raw materials or from water and/or alcohol extracts of the following raw materials in parts by weight: 5 to 200 parts of Ganoderma, 5 to 150 parts of Radix Panacis Quinquefolii or Radix Et Rhizoma Ginseng, 1 to 90 parts of fermented Cordyceps sinensis powder and/or 1 to 120 parts of Cordyceps, and optionally one or more of 5 to 90 parts of Flos Rosae Rugosae, 5 to 150 parts of Ganoderma spore powder, 10 to 400 parts of Radix Pseudostellariae, 3 to 400 parts of Radix Codonopsis and 3 to 400 parts of Radix Astragali. Clinical trials demonstrate that the composition can significantly reduce HIV virus load in patients, increase the number of CD4+ cells, enhance the immunity of patients, has no considerable toxic and side effects, and is suitable for long-term use.

The present invention relates to a composition for improving or promoting hair growth, which contains, as an active ingredient, a photosensitizer-peptide conjugate, and to a method for screening for the hair growth promoter using the active ingredients. ALA, which is the photosensitizer of the present invention, is preferably activated by LED radiation, and more preferably activated by radiation having a long wavelength of 650 to 675 nm. The peptide of the present invention is a peptide in which 3 to 7 amino acid residues are incorporated (most preferably, glycine-histidine-lysine), and may cooperate with the photosensitizer to enable very superior hair growth improving or promoting effects using light radiation. Further, the composition of the present invention may exhibit further superior effects when natural extracts (for example, Cimicifuga heracleifolia extracts, Scutellaria baicalensis extracts or Codonopsis lanceolata extracts) are added. Thus, the composition of the present invention can be significantly advantageously applied to drugs, quasi-drugs, and cosmetics.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a hypolipidemic composition comprising peony extract and Codonopsis extract, or comprising water coextract of peony and Codonopsis, the weight ratio of the peony extract to Codonopsis extract in the composition is between 0.5 and 19:1. The advantages of the hypolipidemic composition are: substantially decreasing triglyceride and cholesterol, while increasing high density lipoprotein. It suggested of a favourable prospect of application.
