Abstract: A line connector having a connector piece with at least one junction portion for junction connection to a media line or to an assembly, a transitional portion contiguous to the junction portion, and a flow duct. In at least the region of the transitional portion, an electrical heating element for the media line is provided in an arrangement at least partially surrounding the flow duct. The connector piece, together with the heating element, is surrounded by an outer cladding. At least one of the junction portions is designed as a hollow, cylindrical receptacle for directly plugging in the end of the media line, the media line being capable of being fastened in a materially integral manner. The junction portion including, at least in regions, a material transparent to laser beams in such a way that the media line can be fastened by way of laser welding.

Abstract: A water management system for a motor vehicle in which water is collected from the condenser (1) of the air-conditioning unit, stored in a master water tank (5) and distributed therefrom to the battery (15), screen wash jet (27) and radiator (37). The vehicle owner is thus spared the inconvenience of regularly checking and topping up the water supply for these items. The risk of breakdown is also reduced. In another aspect of the invention, a wet battery (15) incorporates a plurality of float valves (75) for regulating the fluid level in respective cells (61, 63) of the battery. Water is passed through a common channel (23) into which the float valves (75) open when the fluid level is below a preset limit. The battery fluid is thereby automatically kept at the required level for optimum performance and lifetime of the battery.

Abstract: A regulator for maintaining a constant partial vacuum in a region, such as in a piece of process equipment or a fume hood. The regulator includes a path, through which fluid passes from the region to the vacuum source, and a movably mounted piston. The piston is disposed in the path so that the piston may constrict the path at a constriction point. Fluid in the path upstream of the constriction point exerts a pressure on the frontal face of the piston that tends widen the path at the constriction point. The piston is mounted so that the weight of the piston exerts a force on the piston in a direction that tends to widen the path at the constriction point. A force is exerted on the piston, preferably by a spring under compression, in a direction that tends to narrow the path at the constriction point. A buffering gas, introduced to the area between the piston's skirt and the piston mounting structure, may be used to keep noxious fumes from backing up into the environment and/or to provide an efficient bearing.

Abstract: A fluid sleeve for channeling fluid spilled during the servicing of a motorized vehicle includes a top portion, a bottom portion, and an enclosed body portion extending between the top portion and the bottom portion. Abstract: A manhole assembly is attached on a fill pipe for an underground storage tank for gasoline, diesel fuel or other types of toxic chemicals. The manhole assembly comprises a bucket-like body attached on an upper end of the fill pipe and a removable cover mounted on an upper end of the body to selectively expose the fill pipe. At least one annular dam is formed on an upper surface of the body and is adapted to nest within an annular groove formed on an underside of the cover. The dam functions as a barrier to prevent the ingress of water into the body during rainstorms and the like. A combined sealing and cushioning assembly attaches a bottom wall of the body to the fill pipe and a drain connection is provided for selectively communicating an internal chamber of the body with the fill pipe.
