    摘要: In accordance with an embodiment, an image processing apparatus comprises a front surface reading section, a back surface reading section, a back surface image processing section and a front surface image processing section. The front surface reading section reads a range containing a front surface of a sheet. The back surface reading section reads a range containing a back surface of the sheet. The back surface image processing section detects a position of a sheet part in back surface image data based on the back surface image data obtained by reading the sheet back surface. The front surface image processing section extracts an image on the sheet part from front surface image data obtained by reading the sheet front surface based on the position of the sheet part in the back surface image data.

    摘要: An integrated document handling and platen scanning apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a main body; a platen glass positionally fixed to the main body; a CVT glass area positionally fixed to the main body; a first image module attached to the main body, the first image module being movable across the platen glass to scan an image on a first side of a document; a document handler attached to the main body and configured to invert the document and to feed the document across the CVT glass area; and an attachment point on the main body that attaches the main body to a copier body of a photocopier such that the main body, platen glass, first image module, and document handler move as a unit relative to the copier body. The first image module is configured to remain stationary and scan the image on the first side of the document as the document is fed across the CVT glass area.

    摘要: A compact media processing device enables recording on a process medium and then processing the process medium based on the result of recording. The media processing device conveys a process medium and processes the conveyed process medium by a first process unit disposed to the conveyance path, and an operation selection unit then determines the content of the next operation based on the result of the first process. After the next operation is determined, the conveyance control unit conveys the process medium upstream to or upstream of the process position of a second process unit. A process control unit then applies the selected operation to the process medium by the second process unit that is disposed downstream from the first process unit on the conveyance path of the process medium.

    摘要: A portable scanner includes a housing including a hollow upper housing and a hollow lower housing of which two ends are connected together to define a transmitting passage therebetween, a switching device rotatably mounted inside the upper housing, a first scanning device mounted on the switching device, and a document feeder for transmitting the document automatically through the transmitting passage. A first and a second scanning window are opened in and penetrating through two different sides of the upper housing respectively, wherein the second scanning window is communicated with the transmitting passage. The switching device together with the first scanning device are switched between a first scanning state that is the first scanning device faces the first scanning window for scanning the document manually, and a second scanning state that is the first scanning device faces the second scanning window for scanning the document automatically.
