Abstract: Certain exemplary aspects of the disclosure are directed to customization of alerts using telecommunications services. In one such example, a data-communications server is configured to a set of virtual office features including client-specific call routing functions available to remotely-situated client entities. The server provides a set of instructions to the client entities, with the instructions documented in a first programming language, and receives from each such client entity, client-specific sets of control data written in a second programming language. The client-specific sets of control data may specify, as examples, particular alerts, informational data and/or reminders to be provided to end-users of the respective client entity.

Abstract: Systems and methods for managing non-associative communications between devices is provided. A first call chain that indicates a routing between phone numbers is stored. A first phone call or a first SMS text is received from a first session initiation protocol (SIP) provider. Based on information provided by the first SIP provider, (i) a sender identity of the first phone call or the first SMS text; (ii) a receiver identity of the first phone call or the first SMS text; and (iii) an access mode of the call chain are determined. If the receiver identity corresponds to a first phone number in the first call chain, a second phone call or a second SMS text is initiated via a second SIP provider, from a second phone number in the first call chain, based on the sender identity and the access mode.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a method and system for routing communications. A plurality of communications-enabled devices are coupled to a communications network. Each communications-enabled device has a device identifier. A user-programmable database associates each of a plurality of user identifiers with a device identifier. A router circuit is coupled to the communications network through a portal communication device having a portal identifier. A user designates a destination user identifier when making a communication. The router circuit switches the call, directing the call to a destination device identifier responsive to the user-programmable database association between the destination user identifier and a device identifier. According to certain aspects, communications are directed to users and are routed to associated equipment, a user identifier serving as a virtual extension number. Users remotely program the database to direct their communications to communications-enabled devices at various destinations.

Abstract: A method for establishing a telecommunications link (C1, C2, C3) for a user to whom a first communications terminal is allocated. According to said method, an allocation information is made available to a control program running on a server for establishing the telecommunications link in which information a first allocation is defined for the first communications terminal as specified by the user. The first allocation can define an allocation of a second communications terminal to the first communications terminal. The telecommunications link can be established in accordance with the first allocation, using the second communications terminal instead of the first communications terminal. The allocation information can include a second allocation by which the first communications terminal can be signaled as being the only terminal used by the user in the established telecommunications link.

Abstract: In a CTI system, when a wireless terminal is called in response to a transmission request from a personal computer, a key telephone main unit adds to a call signal identification information indicating that a call is based on the transmission request from the personal computer. When the call is received, the wireless terminal judges whether or not the identification information is added to the call signal. When it is judged that the identification information is added, the wireless terminal automatically answers the call. Otherwise, the wireless terminal does not automatically answer. Thus, in case of transmission from a CTI application, operability and convenience are improved.

Abstract: A PBX system complements the mobile phones of users. Custom incoming and outgoing call rules are dynamically activated for users when the users begin utilizing a facility having at least one phone number and a number of internal phones. A custom rule causes outgoing calls made from an internal phone used by a user to have a caller ID phone number of the user's personal mobile phone rather than the facility's phone number. Another custom rule causes incoming calls made to the facility's phone number that have a source caller ID phone number matching a phone number in the user's mobile phone address book to be automatically forwarded directly to an internal phone currently utilized by the user. The user may install an application on their mobile phone, and another custom rule causes incoming calls at the user's mobile phone to be twinned while the user is at the facility.

The intermediate functional unit (30, 32) signals to the control program (28) that the second communications terminal (D1) instead of the proxy (Trk2) is linked into the established telecommunications link (C1, C2, C3) as the telecommunications terminal. The intermediate functional unit (30, 32) instructs the CTI server (20) to carry out the CTI service on the proxy (Trk2) in accordance with the control program (28). Furthermore, an intermediate functional unit (extra domain device, CSP) can be implemented as additional server or middleware. The invention further provides a corresponding system.

The call-routing switches the call, directing the call to a destination device identifier responsive to the user-programmable database association between the destination user identifier and a device identifier. According to certain aspects, communications are directed to users and are routed to associated equipment, a user identifier serving as a virtual extension number. Users remotely program the database to direct their calls to communication devices at various geographic, voice mail and e-mail destinations.

Abstract: A network system for enabling voice interaction between communications-center applications and human agents remote from the center has a primary server connected to the network the server controlling at least one routing point used by the center, a secondary server connected to the network the secondary server for generating and serving voice extensible markup language, a voice gateway associated with the secondary server, the gateway for executing voice extensible markup language and recognizing speech input, and a software platform based in the primary server and distributed in part as a server application to the secondary server, the software suite functioning as a data transformation interface between the center applications and the gateway. In a preferred use agents and applications communicate bi-directionally using VXML.
