摘要： A removable computer chip module for use in a communication unit is disclosed. The communication unit also includes a transceiver, an interface in communication with the removable computer chip module, and a controller in communication with the interface. The controller configured to receive a first access number stored on the removable computer chip module. The controller is further configured to control a transceiver in the communication unit such that the transceiver transmits the first access number to access a cellular network and receives a second access number. The controller is further configured to control the transceiver such that the transceiver transmits the second access number to the cellular network for subsequent access to the cellular network. The controller is further configured to receive count information associated with calls from the removable computer chip module.

The system and method recognizes a cellular radiotelephone's pre-programmed and pre-selected telephone number and an automated number identification code (ANI). The pre-selected telephone number is reserved to the pre-paid cellular telecommunications system. The cellular radiotelephone transmits the ANI and a dialed number identification system code (DNIS) to a cellular switch, which contacts a host computer for call validation by the pre-paid service provider. This system also allows pre-authorized users to receive and pay for incoming calls as well as purchase additional air time and monthly access fees with convenient pre-paid cards.

摘要： A system and method for adding value into a customer's stored-value account is provided. A stored-value card is distributed to a merchant for distribution to a customer who has an account with an associated account number with a specific provider of goods and/or services. The card has an associated identifier used to associate a value with the card. Associated value is redeemable with one or more providers, including the specific provider. During a card purchase, a central processor receives a request to activate the card from a merchant terminal. The central processor receives a redemption request comprising the identifier from the customer. The central processor identifies the provider and account number, and inserts the associated value into the account. The central processor receives a subsequent request to activate the card from a merchant terminal, recognizes the card, identifies the provider and account number, and inserts the value into the account.
