Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for narrowband (NB) LTE operation. A WTRU may receive a first downlink data transmission, for example, via a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH). The WTRU may determine to send a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) acknowledgment (ACK) in response to receipt of the first downlink data transmission. The WTRU may transmit a first uplink reference signal. The WTRU may indicate the HARQ-ACK using a first cyclic shift index that is applied to the first uplink reference signal. The WTRU may determine to send a HARQ negative ACK (HARQ-NACK), for example, on a condition that a second downlink data transmission is not correctly received. The WTRU may send a second uplink reference signal. The WTRU may indicate the HARQ-NACK using a second cyclic shift that is applied to the second uplink reference signal.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to synchronization signal (SS) transmission coordination among base stations (BSs) and restricted SS measurements at user equipments (UEs) are provided. A first BS transmits a first SS burst in a first SS transmission period of a plurality of SS transmission periods. The first SS transmission period is designated to the first BS. A second SS transmission period of the plurality of SS transmission periods is designated to a second BS. The first SS transmission period and the second SS transmission period are different. The first BS receives, from a UE, a first signal in synchronization with the first SS burst. The first signal includes a SS measurement of the first SS burst.

Abstract: A communications system is described in which user devices are allocated sub-carriers on which to transmit uplink data to a base station. ACK/NACK messages for the data transmitted on the uplink are then transmitted by the base station on sub-carriers that depend on the sub-carriers used to carry the uplink data. A direct mapping function is preferably used to determine the sub-carriers to be used for the ACK/NACK messages from the uplink sub-carriers. In another embodiment, the ACK/NACK messages are transmitted to the user devices on sub-carriers that are previously identified to the user devices, preferably by transmitting one or more index values to the user device in a control channel thereof.

Abstract: According to some embodiments, a method for use in a user equipment (UE) of managing a listen-before-talk (LBT) contention window size comprises receiving scheduling for a current burst of contiguous uplink subframes. For each subframe the scheduling comprises an associated hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process identifier and a new data indicator (NDI). The method determines a reference subframe based on a previously-scheduled burst of contiguous uplink subframes. The reference subframe is associated with a reference HARQ process identifier. When the UE determines the HARQ process identifier associated with a subframe of the current scheduled burst of contiguous uplink subframes matches the reference HARQ process identifier and the NDI indicates new data, the method resets the LBT contention window. When the reference HARQ process identifier matches, but the associated NDI indicates a retransmission, or the HARQ process identifier does not match, the method increments the LBT contention window.

Abstract: The present invention pertains to a terminal device, which, when ARQ is used for communication that uses an uplink unit band and a plurality of downlink unit bands associated with the uplink unit band, and when a transmission mode that supports up to 2 TB in a PCell is set in the terminal, is capable of reducing the amount of signaling from a base station while eliminating a lack of PUCCH resources when semi-permanent scheduling (SPS) is used in the PCell. A control unit in this device selects one value among values obtained by adding 1 to four PUCCH resource indexes, which have been preset for PUCCH resource 1 by the base station, on the basis of values for transmission power control information (TPC command for PUCCH) in a PDCCH, for which notification has been received at the start of SPS.

Abstract: A control unit (208) transmits a response signal on an uplink control channel on the basis of a rule. Abstract: Methods, apparatuses and a user equipment for performing a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) transmission in a downlink from a base station to at least one user equipment are provided. An exemplary method comprises receiving a HARQ feedback to a HARQ transmission performed with respect to a transport block. The method further comprises determining whether the HARQ feedback is an ambiguous HARQ feedback with respect to a negative acknowledgement or a discontinuous transmission. The method additionally comprises setting (S206) the ambiguous HARQ feedback as the negative acknowledgement or the discontinuous transmission based on the number of HARQ transmissions having been performed and the corresponding received HARQ feedbacks within a target number of HARQ transmissions counting from a first HARQ transmission. With the methods and apparatuses, the ambiguity of the HARQ feedback can be overcome and communication efficiency may be improved.
