Abstract: A base station maps code blocks of a transport block of a transport block size (TBS) for a channel using tone-level interleaving or resource element (RE)-level interleaving. Then, the base station can transmit the code blocks of the transport block of the TBS for the channel. A UE may receive the channel from the base station and de-interleave the received tones of the channel in a frequency domain to obtain the code blocks of the transport block having the TBS for the channel.

Abstract: Techniques pertaining to detailed signaling designs for distributed-tone resource unit (dRU) transmission in wireless communications are described. Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a data transmission method and apparatus, and the method includes: modulating to-be-sent information bits according to a lower order constellation diagram, and generating 4m lower order modulation symbols; multiplying a precoding matrix Q by a column vector including every four lower order modulation symbols in the 4m lower order modulation symbols, to obtain 4m to-be-sent higher order modulation symbols corresponding to a higher order constellation diagram; and respectively and correspondingly sending the 4m to-be-sent higher order modulation symbols on different carriers of two antennas. The to-be-sent higher order modulation symbols include some or all to-be-sent information bits. Therefore, the same signal can be simultaneously sent on different carriers of multiple antennas, and frequency diversity and space diversity are implemented, so that transceiving performance of data transmission is improved.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a method and apparatus for implementing space frequency block coding (SFBC) in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) wireless communication system. The present invention is applicable to both a closed loop mode and an open loop mode. In the closed loop mode, power loading and eigen-beamforming are performed based on channel state information (CSI). A channel coded data stream is multiplexed into two or more data streams. Power loading is performed based on the CSI on each of the multiplexed data streams. SFBC encoding is performed on the data streams for each of the paired subcarriers. Then, eigen-beamforming is performed based on the CSI to distribute eigenbeams to multiple transmit antennas. The power loading may be performed on two or more SFBC encoding blocks or on each eigenmodes. Additionally, the power loading may be performed across subcarriers or subcarrier groups for weak eigenmodes.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for implementing spatial processing with unequal modulation and coding schemes (MCSs) or stream-dependent MCSs are disclosed. Input data may be parsed into a plurality of data streams, and spatial processing is performed on the data streams to generate a plurality of spatial streams. An MCS for each data stream is selected independently. The spatial streams are transmitted via multiple transmit antennas. At least one of the techniques of space time block coding (STBC), space frequency block coding (SFBC), quasi-orthogonal Alamouti coding, time reversed space time block coding, linear spatial processing and cyclic delay diversity (CDD) may be performed on the data/spatial streams. An antennal mapping matrix may then be applied to the spatial streams. The spatial streams are transmitted via multiple transmit antennas. The MCS for each data stream may be determined based on a signal-to-noise ratio of each spatial stream associated with the data stream.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a transmission method comprising splitting a block of bits to be transmitted into a number of groups each consisting of k+2q bits, wherein k and q are natural numbers and each of the groups includes a subgroup consisting of k bits and two subgroups each consisting of q bits and performing 2q-ary QAM modulation on the subgroups of q bits from the groups of k+2q bits to obtain QAM symbols, respectively. The QAM symbols are processed so that two QAM symbols obtained from the two subgroups of q bits in each of the groups of k+2q bits are mapped onto at least two antennas as consecutive processed symbols. Through the use of 2k-ary FSK modulation, a frequency tone to which the two consecutive processed symbols are allocated is selected according to the subgroup of k bits from each of the groups of k+2q bits before transmission.

Abstract: Method for computing likelihoods in a process for reconstructing decoded information words from vectors of observations received from a wireless channel and generated from vectors of transmission symbols using a plurality of Alamouti matrix based Differential Space Time Block Codes coder. The method comprises applying an iterative reconstruction process, comprising, in a current iteration: receiving a vector of observations; determining, at least one vector of approximated scaling factors to be applied to the vector of observations; determining for each vector of approximated scaling factors a vector of approximated scaled equivalent channel models; and, computing likelihoods in the form of values representative of joint probabilities of obtaining the vector of observations knowing a vector of modulated symbols and a model of the wireless channel using each determined vector of approximated scaling factors and each determined vector of approximated scaled equivalent channel models.

Various methods for pre-coding information bits before space time coding (STC) are described for enabling transmission of information bits over all antennas.
