摘要: In one example, an antenna system is described. The antenna system includes a primary antenna on an aircraft. The primary antenna is mechanically steerable and has an asymmetric antenna beam pattern with a narrow beamwidth axis and a wide beamwidth axis at boresight. The antenna system also includes a secondary antenna on the aircraft, the secondary antenna including an array of antenna elements. The antenna system also includes an antenna selection system to control communication of a signal between the aircraft and a target satellite via the primary antenna and the secondary antenna. The antenna selection system switches communication of the signal from the primary antenna to the secondary antenna when a performance characteristic for communication with the target satellite satisfies a threshold due to a position of the aircraft relative to the target satellite.

摘要: A receiving apparatus comprising: an antenna control unit; a variable characteristic antenna that receives MIMO signals transmitted from a plurality of antennas while switching an antenna characteristic on the basis of a control signal output from the antenna control unit; a conversion unit that samples reception signals received by the variable characteristic antenna at a predetermined sampling period; a signal division unit that extracts each signal from a plurality of signals corresponding to a plurality of antenna characteristics obtained by the conversion unit; and a MIMO signal demodulation unit that performs MIMO demodulation processing on a signal output from the signal division unit, wherein the variable characteristic antenna includes a plurality of parasitic elements, and the antenna control unit outputs a control signal to each of the parasitic elements by providing a time difference among the control signals.

摘要: A front end module (FEM) for a 5.6/6.6 GHz Wi-Fi acoustic wave resonator RF filter circuit. The device can include a power amplifier (PA), a 5.6/6.6 GHz resonator, and a diversity switch. The device can further include a low noise amplifier (LNA). The PA is electrically coupled to an input node and can be configured to a DC power detector or an RF power detector. The resonator can be configured between the PA and the diversity switch, or between the diversity switch and an antenna. The LNA may be configured to the diversity switch or be electrically isolated from the switch. Another 5.6/6.6 GHZ resonator may be configured between the diversity switch and the LNA. In a specific example, this device integrates a 5.6/6.6 GHz PA, a 5.6/6.6 GHZ bulk acoustic wave (BAW) RF filter, a single pole two throw (SP2T) switch, and a bypassable LNA into a single device.

摘要: A user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system includes a transceiver and a processor. The transceiver receives information about an antenna system of a base station. The information includes a number of collocated antenna groups, and a number of antenna modules for each type of antenna modules in each of the collocated antenna groups. A collocated antenna group has at least two types of antenna modules: a first module with first antenna type and a second module with second antenna type. The transceiver also receives configuration information for a channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS) resource. The transceiver also receives a CSI-RS based on the configuration information and acquires measurements. The processor determines a subset of antenna modules based on a comparison between the measurements and a criterion. The processor generates CSI for the subset of antenna modules. The transceiver transmits a CSI report comprising the CSI.

摘要: A coordinated multipoint (CoMP) transmission radio network is provided. Each cell in the CoMP network may include antenna nodes distributed at different geographical locations and coupled to a common baseband processing unit. When operating a user device in the CoMP network, the device may register with a neighboring baseband unit and may be served using at least one antenna node. The device may receive reference signals from different antenna nodes in its vicinity, compute receive signal strength levels, and report the measurements to the corresponding baseband unit. The baseband unit may then switch appropriate antennas in/out of use based on the measured results. If desired, the device may be served using more than one antenna node that may or may not be part of the same cell.
