Abstract: A PLC network system and method operative with OFDM for generating MIMO frames with suitable preamble portions configured to provide backward compatibility with legacy PLC devices and facilitate different receiver tasks such as frame detection and symbol timing, channel estimation and automatic gain control (AGC), including robust preamble detection in the presence of impulsive noise and frequency-selective channels of the PLC network. A PLC device may include a delayed correlation detector and a cross-correlation detector operating in concert to facilitate preamble detection in one implementation.

Abstract: The present disclosure aims to provide a power wiring network apparatus capable of constructing a highly portable power wiring network, without the need to maintain infrastructure. A power wiring network apparatus of the present disclosure includes circuit elements each including a first connector, a second connector, and a conductive portion electrically connecting the first connector and the second connector. The circuit elements include energy harvesting elements as circuit elements capable of outputting power generated by energy harvesting and load elements as circuit elements capable of consuming inputted power. Abstract: A communication device and a communication signal generation method are provided that perform receiving input data; and processing the input data according to a determined channel to generate a communication frame. The determined channel corresponds to one of a plurality of channels including at least one first channel defined by a first mode and at least one second channel defined by a second mode. A frequency band of the first channel including subcarriers is different from a frequency band of the second channel including subcarriers. Abstract: A transmission apparatus includes an encoder that codes a data sequence with a parity check matrix, wherein the data sequence includes a final information bit sequence and virtual information bits, and outputs the final information bit sequence and a parity sequence, as LDPC codes, and a transmitter that transmits the LDPC codes as a transmission data. A column length of the parity check matrix is longer than a total length of the final information bit sequence and the parity sequence, by a length of the virtual information bits that are set to “0” and are not transmitted. The total length of the final information bit sequence and the parity sequence has a sequence length corresponding to a length from a first column to a determined column of the parity check matrix. The encoder generates the LDPC codes by using the first column to the determined column among one or more column(s) of the parity check matrix.

Abstract: In a disclosed embodiment, a method for communication in a network includes receiving, at a first device registered to the network, a physical layer (PHY) frame that includes a PHY header and a MAC header. The PHY frame may further include a MAC payload. The PHY header includes a destination address field. The method further includes comparing a network address of the first device to the destination address field to determine whether the destination address field stores a value having the same number of bits as the network address. When the comparison indicates that the value stored by the destination address field does not have the same number of bits as the network address, the method skips decoding the MAC header and the MAC payload.

Abstract: A lighting network includes a lighting network base station and one or more contactless lighting network components. The lighting network base station includes: a radio frequency (RF) amplifier which supplies an RF power signal to a lighting network line pair; and a first power line communication coupler which couples the lighting network line pair to a first power line communication device. The contactless lighting network component extracts electrical power from the RF power signal on the lighting network line pair, and couples the lighting network line pair to a second power line communication device. The first and second power line communication devices communicate network data via the lighting network line pair. The contactless lighting network component may include a lighting fixture (e.g., including one or more LED light sources), a sensor, and/or a lighting network interface adaptor.
