Abstract: A photoconductive semiconductor switch (PCSS) comprises a plurality of planar semiconductor layers, adjacent semiconductor layers separated by an insulation layer, forming a thin-film stack; a pair electrical contacts fixed to a perimeter of each of the semiconductor layers; an optical source arranged to project light of a predetermined wavelength through the plurality of semiconductor layers. The thin-film stack may comprise at least 10 layers of alternating semiconductor and insulating layers. The semiconductor and insulator layers consist of at least one of GaAs, GaN, GaP, AlN, GaSe, ZnSe, ZnTe, GaSb, InAs, GaN, AlAs, InP, CdS, InSe, CdTe, HgTe, InSb, AlSb, and AlGaN. The contacts consist of at least one of a doped semiconductor material. The optical source illuminates the thin-film stack from at least one of their edges, i.e. parallel to the thin-film layers, or straight through the thin-film stack, i.e. perpendicular to the thin-film layers, or any angle in between.

Abstract: A digital output circuit to be driven by an insulated power-supply circuit includes a transistor to turn on/off an external power supply in accordance with a signal output by a light receiving element in an insulating circuit in response to a signal processed by a controller. The external supply is connected to an output device. The output circuit includes a switching unit having first and second mechanisms to switch each of wires between a connected state and a non-connected state at two places between the light receiving element and the source or emitter of the transistor, and a logic adjusting unit to adjust inversion of a logic output of the light receiving element in correspondence to the type of the transistor, such that the output circuit is switched between a sink-current type and a source-current type.

Abstract: A digital signal input circuit including an isolating circuit and a voltage determining circuit is presented, where a first port of an input end of the isolating circuit receives a digital signal, an output end of the isolating circuit outputs the digital signal, and when the isolating circuit is open, the isolating circuit is configured to output a first level, or when the isolating circuit is closed, the isolating circuit is configured to output a second level; and the voltage determining circuit is configured to determine, according to a level of the digital signal, whether the isolating circuit is open or closed. According to the digital signal input circuit, the voltage determining circuit determines a level of a digital signal, thereby correctness of digital signal level conversion is increased.

Abstract: Due to increase of demand for safety of device, reinforcement of insulation of exposed conductive parts is required also in power conversion device. Relay unit having optical transmission unit, signal processing unit and power generating unit is provided between control circuit unit and gate drive circuit unit which form control device for an inverter. A gate signal generated in the control circuit unit is inputted into the signal processing unit of the relay unit through the optical transmission unit, and is outputted to the gate drive circuit unit from the signal processing unit through the optical transmission unit. Further, AC power is supplied to the power generating unit of the relay unit from a control device low-voltage AC power source through high-withstand voltage transformer. AC power is supplied to the gate drive circuit unit from the power generating unit of the relay unit through high-withstand voltage transformer.

Abstract: A microcontroller based multifunctional electronic switch using a detection circuit design to convert external motion signals into message carrying sensing signals readable to the microcontroller. Based on the time length of sensing signals and the format of the sensing signals received in a preset instant period of time the microcontroller through the operation of its software program codes written in the OTPROM is able to recognize the working modes chosen by the external signal generating user and thereby selecting the appropriate loops of subroutine for execution. The system and method of the present invention may simultaneously be applicable to detection circuit design using infrared ray sensor, electrostatic induction sensor, conduction based touch sensor or push button sensor for performing multifunction such as controlling the on/off switch performance, the diming or speed control and the delay timer management within the capacity of a single lighting device or an electrical appliance.

Abstract: An electric power conversion device includes: a first switching element; a second switching element; a control device; a first temperature sensor; a second temperature sensor; a first transmission circuit; and a second transmission circuit, wherein the control device has a storage device, and the control device is configured to: calculate a calculated temperature using a first signal and a correction amount; control the operations of the first switching element and the second switching element based on the calculated temperature; and add the difference between a first comparison temperature and the calculated temperature to the correction amount when the control device determines that a first comparison result changes from lower than the first comparison temperature to equal to or higher than the first comparison temperature, and that the calculated temperature is lower than the first comparison temperature.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides an IGBT driving circuit, including an optocoupler chip and a power amplification circuit. The optocoupler chip includes an isolation amplification unit and a fault protection unit, and the fault protection unit includes a desaturation module and a fault feedback module. The desaturation module is configured to transmit a warning signal to the fault feedback module when detecting that a potential of a collector of the IGBT is overhigh or the potential of the collector of the IGBT changes overfast. The fault feedback module is configured to transmit a fault control signal to the external controller after receiving the warning signal so as to control the external driving signal outputted by the external controller and enable the isolation amplification unit to output an IGBT driving signal for controlling a shutdown of the IGBT.

Abstract: A method of controlling electrical power delivery to a well tool can include transmitting trigger light via an optical waveguide to a circuit in a well, and the circuit delivering the electrical power to the well tool in response to the circuit receiving the trigger light. A circuit for supplying electrical power to at least one well tool can include a photodiode which receives light from an optical waveguide in a well, a voltage increaser which increases a voltage output by the photodiode, and an electrical energy storage device which receives electrical energy via the voltage increaser, whereby the electrical power can be supplied to the downhole well tool from the storage device.
