There is provided a tuner capable of improving reliability thereof with reduced power consumption and reduced heat generation. In the tuner, one wideband amplifier circuit including one transistor constitutes a buffer amplifier. The wideband amplifier circuit is coupled with a first local oscillator circuit in a DC coupling style. With the above-mentioned arrangement, the buffer amplifier is allowed to have a simplified circuit construction and reduce noises. Since the amplifier circuit and the local oscillator circuit are coupled with each other in a DC coupling style, reduced power consumption can be achieved.

The high-frequency oscillation circuit has a resonator and a transistor connected to a reference potential and coupled with the resonator through a first capacitor. A first electrode of the transistor is connected with the resonator through the first capacitor. A second electrode of the transistor is connected to the reference potential and a third electrode thereof is adapted to derive an output. A substrate is provided with a land portion to be connected with the first electrode of the transistor, and a capacitor electrode is formed on the opposite surface of the substrate to be opposite to the first electrode connection land portion through the substrate. The capacitor electrode, the first electrode connection land portion and the substrate form a second capacitor, which is connected to the reference potential between the first capacitor and the first electrode of the transistor.

The mixer circuit comprises a differential amplifier constituted from a pair of transistors grounded at the emitters thereof, and a double balanced mixer constituted from first and second pairs of transistors. By this means, reduction of a parasitic capacitance between an XIN node and an XOUT node, improvement in noise tolerance of these nodes and others can be achieved.

An oscillator in an integrated circuit in which the oscillator signal is taken from the output of a comparator, and the decision level of the comparator is determined by the voltage difference between the input of the comparator and the substrate of the integrated circuit. Interference voltages on the substrate, caused by other circuitry on the integrated circuit, are compensated with equal interference voltages at the input of the comparator. To effect this compensation, a capacitor is connected between the input of the comparator and the substrate, in lieu of the conventional capacitor that is connected between the input of the comparator and a ground potential.
