    摘要: A switched capacitor is provided. The switched capacitor includes a pair of parallel component stacks. Each stack is connected to a common top node and a common bottom node. Each stack includes a BJT. Each stack further includes a first resistor in series with the BJT and having a first side connected to a collector of the BJT at an intermediate node in a same one of the stacks and a second side connected to the common top node. Each stack also includes a capacitor having a first side connected to the intermediate node and a second side for providing an impedance. Each stack additionally includes a second resistor having a first side connected to a base of the BJT to prevent base-current surge in the BJT and a second side connected to a switch base control signal that selectively turns the BJT on or off.

    摘要: A crystal oscillator circuit is configured to output an oscillation signal. A bias circuit responds to control signal to generate a bias current for application to the crystal oscillator circuit. A current generator generates a sense current from the control signal. The sense current is compared to a reference current by a comparator circuit. The comparator circuit generates a ready signal in response to the comparison. The ready signal is indicative of whether the oscillation signal output from the crystal oscillator circuit is ready for use by other circuitry. The reference current may be generated by a circuit which replicates the bias circuit.

    摘要: Multi-mode oscillators supporting multiple modes and having different desirable characteristics (e.g., good phase noise or low power consumption) in different modes are disclosed. In an exemplary design, an apparatus includes first and second transistors of a first transistor type (e.g., NMOS transistors) and third and fourth transistors of a second transistor type (e.g., PMOS transistors) for a multi-mode oscillator. The third and fourth transistors are coupled (e.g., directly) to the first and second transistors. The first and second transistors are enabled in a first mode to provide signal gain for the oscillator and generate an oscillator signal in the first mode. The first to fourth transistors are enabled in a second mode to provide signal gain for the oscillator and generate the oscillator signal in the second mode. Different supply voltages may be provided at different supply nodes of the oscillator in the first and second modes.

One such apparatus includes a switching network having a circuit element, such as a capacitor, that can be selectively coupled to the resonant circuit by a switch, such as a field effect transistor. For instance, the switch can electrically couple to circuit element to the resonant circuit when on and not electrically couple the circuit element to the resonant circuit when off. An active circuit can assert a high impedance on an intermediate node between the switch and the circuit element when the switch is off.
