In exemplary embodiments, the resonant circuitry includes an annular resonance structure that is substantially symmetrical and includes a pair of arcuate inductive elements. In accordance with one or more embodiments, the resonant circuitry includes an additional inductive element that is capacitively coupled to the annular resonance structure via an air gap to improve the quality factor of the resonant circuitry.

    摘要: The disclosure relates to an oscillator for use in generating frequencies in a frequency synthesizer, comprising: a first inductor element forming a metal trace loop with at least one turn, and a first capacitive circuit arranged to form a first resonance circuit with the first inductor element and being connected to the first inductor element through at least one first connection terminal, wherein the first capacitive circuit comprises at least one capacitive element and an electrical components arrangement arranged to establish and maintain an oscillation. The oscillator is characterized in that a second capacitive circuit comprising at least one capacitive element and an arrangement of electrical components, is arranged to form a second resonance circuit with the first inductor element and being connected to the first inductor element through at least one second connection terminal located on the opposite side of the first inductor element in respect to the first connection terminal of the first capacitive circuit, wherein the first and second resonance circuits are tuned to substantially the same frequency. The invention also relates to a frequency synthesizer and to a network node for use in a telecommunications network.

    摘要: An oscillator circuit comprises a push-push oscillator and a differential output, comprising a first and a second output circuit. The push-push oscillator has a first and a second branch. Each of the first and second branch comprises an own voltage divider branch of a common bridge circuit. Each of the first and second voltage divider branches comprises an own pair of micro-strip lines connected in series. Each of the first and second voltage divider branches has an own tap. Both taps are connected to each other by at least one of a first capacity and a micro-strip line. The differential output comprises a first and a second output terminal. The first output terminal is connected via the first output circuit to a first node. The second output terminal is connected via the second output circuit to a second node. Each of the first and second nodes of the push-push oscillator is a common node of both of the first and the second branches.

    摘要: An integrated circuit distributed radio frequency oscillator comprises a semiconductor chip which includes a differential input transmission line, a differential output transmission line and, coupled in parallel between these transmission lines at spaced apart portions, a number of differential amplifier cells with adjustable delay. The output end of the output transmission line is coupled back to the input end of the input transmission line by a feedback link with a pair of on-chip capacitors. The delay introduced by the amplifier cells is variable in response to a tuning voltage applied to a differential tuning input, making the oscillator suitable for use as a distributed VCO in, e.g. a phase-locked loop circuit. The layout of the oscillator on a semiconductor chip includes the series-connected arrangement of the differential transmission lines in a rectilinear spiral path.

The bias branch may comprise a transmission line the length of which is one quarter wavelength associated with the resonance frequency of the voltage-controlled oscillator circuit. A radar system including a VCO circuit is further disclosed.

    摘要: An aspect of the present invention is a voltage controlled oscillator that provides multi octave band tenability. The oscillator preferably includes one or more multi planar resonators which allow it to be implemented in integrated circuit form. Oscillators implemented in accordance with the aspect of the present invention provide as wide a tuning range as the YIG based resonators but are much more compact and efficient. Therefore, they are amenable to implementation in integrated circuits and suited for adaptation in third and future generation wireless devices.
