摘要: In one embodiment, an advanced electric propulsion system comprises: a housing; an electric motor within the housing; a motor drive coupled to the motor; a thermal management system comprising: a manifold-mini-channel heat sink integrated into the housing, the manifold-mini-channel heat sink comprises: an inlet manifold having air inlets formed in front of the housing; a set of plurality of circumferentially grooved micro-channels formed in the housing and coupled to the air inlets and conductively thermally coupled to stator windings of the electric motor; an outlet manifold having an air outlets formed at a back of the housing and coupled to the set of plurality of circumferentially grooved micro-channels; wherein the electric motor comprises PEW stator windings that provide a low thermal resistance path from the stator of the electric motor to the housing; wherein the PEW stator windings comprise a high temperature tolerant thermally conductive electrical insulator.

摘要: This electric motor includes a frame defining an internal volume and comprising a rotor and a stator, a primary cooling circuit comprising at least one primary conduit and in fluidic communication with the outside of the frame for circulating a gas stemming from the outside of the frame in the internal volume of the frame, a secondary cooling circuit extending in the internal volume of the frame and isolated from the outside of the frame, said secondary cooling circuit comprising at least one first cooling channel going through the rotor and at least one second cooling channel going through the stator, wherein it comprises at least one heat insulation channel interposed between the primary conduit of the primary cooling circuit and the second cooling channel of the secondary cooling circuit.

摘要: Provided are a rotor core, a method for cooling a rotor core, and a superconducting rotating machine, capable of effectively and uniformly cooling superconducting coils without causing cold brittleness in an extremely low temperature. The rotor core 10, which is made of a substantially hollow cylindrical member of nonmagnetic material, has a cylindrical cavity 13 defined therein and extending in the longitudinal axis of the member. Helium gas 300 is delivered in the rotor core 10 from the proximal to distal sides and vice versa, which ensures a uniform cooling of the rotor core 10. This also ensures a uniform and effective cooling of the superconducting coils.

摘要: A stator arrangement particularly suitable for use in an air-cooled generator or other such electric machine includes a stator with an outer stator surface, an opening therein defining an inner stator surface, and longitudinally opposed stator end surfaces. Conductive coils are supported by the stator, and include end turns overlying the longitudinally opposed stator end surfaces. In order to block out environmental contaminants and prevent conductive coil shorting, protective barriers are mounted over the end turns and secured to the stator.
