摘要: A level shifter including a transistor that can be formed through the same process as a display portion is provided. A semiconductor device serves as a level shifter including transistors having the same conductivity type. The semiconductor device includes a so-called MIS capacitor in which metal, an insulator, and a semiconductor are stacked as a capacitor for boosting an input signal. Since the MIS capacitor is used, the gate-source voltage of a transistor for generating an output signal can be increased. Thus, boosting operation to generate the output signal can be performed more surely.

摘要: To provide a novel semiconductor device or display device. The semiconductor device includes a decoder circuit, an amplifier circuit, and an arithmetic circuit. The amplifier circuit includes a first amplifier and a second amplifier. One of the first amplifier and the second amplifier has a function of inspecting an output of the other of the first amplifier and the second amplifier. The arithmetic circuit has a function of calculating an error of a potential output from the first amplifier or the second amplifier, on the basis of a result of the inspection. The decoder circuit has a function of correcting a video signal input to the decoder circuit by subtracting the error of the potential from the video signal.

摘要: A display device with high driving performance is provided. The display device includes a base, a display portion, a gate deriver, a level shifter, a source driver IC, and a controller IC. Each of the display portion, the gate driver, and the level shifter includes a transistor including a metal oxide in a channel formation region and is formed over the base. Each of the source driver IC and the controller IC includes a transistor including silicon in a channel formation region and is mounted over the base. The display portion is electrically connected to the gate driver and the source driver IC. The gate driver is electrically connected to the controller IC through the level shifter, and the source driver IC is electrically connected to the controller IC.

摘要: To provide an electronic device with reduced power consumption. In the case where rewriting of image data is not performed in an electronic device including a display device, a source driver, a gate driver, an image processing circuit, and the like that drive the display device are power-gated, reducing the power consumption of the electronic device. When power gating is performed, setting data needs to be saved into a memory device in advance. It is preferable that the saving of setting data be performed according to a prediction that power gating is to be performed. To predict whether to perform power gating, learning and calculation using a neural network are carried out. Predictive information about whether to perform power gating is obtained by the calculation, and when power gating is performed, saving of setting data into the memory device is speculatively executed.

摘要: It is an object to provide a display device in which a problem of light leakage from a liquid crystal element in black display is reduced or overcome and the contrast is improved. It is another object to provide a pixel circuit having a function to control a lighting state of a backlight based on each pixel. These objects are achieved by turning off a light-emitting element in display of a black gray scale, and by providing a light-emitting element in each pixel and providing, in a pixel circuit, a function to individually control lighting and non-lighting of the light-emitting element depending on a gray scale to perform display. When a backlight is provided in each pixel, a light-emitting element that is a backlight is turned off when a black gray scale is displayed, whereby reduction in contrast due to light leakage from a liquid crystal element can be prevented.
