摘要: A printer controller is provided for controlling an inkjet print head. The controller has an interface for receiving image data, a contone image decoder for decoding continuous tone image data in the received image data, a bi-level decoder for decoding bi-level image data in the received image data, a dithering and compositing unit for scaling the decoded continuous tone and bi-level image data to a resolution of the inkjet print head, dithering the scaled continuous tone image data, and compositing the scaled bi-level image planes with the dithered continuous tone image planes to produce print data, and an output for outputting the print data to the inkjet print head.

摘要: A printing apparatus and a printing method capable of reducing the processing time with relatively low cost is provided. In a printing apparatus and a printing method in which print data is created from received job data in accordance with an indication of a command associated with the job data, execution time of each command associated with the received job data is measured, execution number of times of said each command is counted, one or more command(s) to be subjected to replacement processing is determined on the basis of the acquired execution time and execution number of times of each command, and the one or more command(s) is replaced with other command(s) which can be executed in shorter time compared to the determined command(s).

摘要: The user needs the skill to select a pixel interpolating process and a gradation converting process and it is difficult to select an optimum process adapted to desired printing quality. In a printing system using a computer system (10), by allowing a factor such as printing paper which exerts an influence on printing quality to be selected (step 400), the printing quality is estimated from the selected printing paper, a proper printing control which is preliminarily made correspond is selected (step 410), and a process is branched so as to execute the selected printing control (steps 420 to 450, steps 460 to 480), thereby enabling an optimum printing control to be performed.

摘要: A method of managing a printing system in which print jobs are disposed with a print queue, wherein a so-called nullacting objectnull, is provided within the print queue to behave as a separate job, and is operative for specifying one or more system commands, without further specifying a actual print job. When the acting object reaches the top of the print queue, its system command is executed. Examples of such system commands are an interruption of the print queue processing or a change of default printing and/or printer parameters.
