    摘要: A numerical control apparatus for machining non-circular workpieces such as a cam and the like is disclosed. In the present invention, roughing profile data and finishing profile data are generated from lift data regulating the shape of non-circular workpiece. The roughing profile data are obtained from roughing lift data. The roughing lift data are generated as changing smoothly such that the deviation from the lift data regulating the finished shape presents within the tolerance of allowance at finishing, and quadratic differential components related to the rotational angle are smaller than the predetermined value. Machinings are performed by the roughing profile data at roughing and by the finishing profile data at finishing. As a result, the high-speed machinings are possible and the machining cycle time can be shortened.

    摘要: A method is disclosed for controlling movement of machine tool systems by providing a conversational programming interface that permits a user to create a universal program for execution by various machine tool systems for machining a part, each system having at least four movable axes. The user defines program blocks including geometry definitions which are independent of any axis kinematics configuration. A first tool path relative to a first Cartesian coordinate system is generated for forming the geometry, then mapped to a second Cartesian coordinate system corresponding to the part. The mapped path is transformed to a third Cartesian coordinate system corresponding to an orientation and location of the part relative to an axis kinematics configuration of a current machine tool system. The transformed path is processed to generate positions for the movable axes of the current system.

    摘要: A method for the making of a tooth mold which includes the steps of scanning the surface of a model of a tooth to obtain data on the three-dimensional surface locations of the model, processing the data in a CAD/CAM computer, and using the processed data to fabricate a tooth mold. The scanning step involves subjecting a rotating tooth model to radiant energy from a laser beam, receiving and translating reflections of the radiant energy into electronic signals, and digitizing the signals into data of the three-dimensional surface locations of the tooth model. The processing step involves translating the data, editing the data, creating a three-dimensional surface pattern of the tooth model, evaluating the surface pattern by visual analysis and comparison to known geometric values of the tooth model, and creating a tooth path program. Finally, the fabricating step involves using the tooth path program to direct a machine to mill a tooth mold and using the same program to direct a machine to finish-polish the mold.

As a result, by using the V-CAD data, the NC processing program for mold processing can be simplified, and the mold processing time can be greatly reduced.

The milling and polishing is directed by three milling programs which use data, representative of the surface of one of the tooth mold parts. The data is adapted by the milling program to direct the milling and polishing. The milling of each of the parts includes executing a first pass with a first mill and executing a second pass with a second mill. The first mill has a first mill end. The second mill has a second mill end, which is smaller in size than the first mill end. High definition artificial teeth having labial striations are repeatedly manufactured in the set of polished mold parts.
