    摘要: Nanoparticles (NPs) may be used to transform the energy of harmful or less useful wavelengths into beneficial and more useful wavelengths of light for a multitude of purposes including, for example, promotion of photosynthesis, enhancing germination timing, enhancing bloom timing. In one embodiment, a greenhouse structure may include nanoparticles embedded in a glass or plastic panel, or may include nanoparticles disposed on a surface of such a panel, to alter the wavelength of available light to a desired wavelength in order to alter an event associated with plant life contained within the greenhouse structure. In another embodiment, nanoparticles may be applied directly to a part of a plant structure (e.g., leaves, stems, etc.) to alter a characteristic of light before receipt of the light by the plant.

    摘要: An embodiment is a display unit. The display unit includes a substrate layer, a layer of colored fluid on the substrate layer, and a transparent actuator element on the layer of the colored fluid. The layer of colored fluid has a thickness and a color. The transparent actuator element modulates the thickness of the colored fluid upon activated by a force such that the colored fluid is changed from a first state to a second state or vice versa. The modulated thickness provides a variable optical density of the colored fluid.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an electrowetting element, in which a first liquid material and a second liquid material having a surface energy which is lower than that of the first liquid material, which are not mixed together, are provided in a cell formed between a first substrate and a second substrate placed as facing; at least one of the first liquid material and the second liquid material is gelated or altered to have high viscosity; and the shape of the interface between the first liquid material and the second liquid material is changed by applying voltage in the cell; which includes a step of stimulating at least one of the first liquid material and the second liquid material which is gelated or altered to have high viscosity, to alter at least one of the first liquid material and the second liquid material to have low viscosity. According to the present invention, an electrowetting element can be manufactured easily, and the electrowetting element manufactured by the present invention does not show increase of applied voltage, delay of operation and the like.
